My first model

Post by underreaper61 »

I have decided that MXS will be my first attempt at a real model. I am currently going to school majoring in Game Design so I will be learning new things each week. This is my very basic block-out of my yzf engine. It is a custom/prediction of yzfs to come. So here is the start of my 2013 yzf250 with a rearward slanting engine. Constructive criticism would be much appreciated. thanks.

It's a start mate :) , keep working on it is my advice, and don't give up.

What modelling program are you using?, I would suggest using blender as its free and i find it easier to use than 3ds max etc. If you use blender i could sort you out with a few tutorials that i learned from.

I am using 3DS because I am familiar with it. I get Autodesk programs for free while I'm at school so I have most of their modeling related programs. Help is always appreciated because I am new to modeling for games and any tutorials for blender would be great because obviously it is always better to export from the program you did the work in and not have to convert the file a bunch. The thing that I am most concerned about is when it comes to the rigging and uv/normal maps because I have no clue where to even start there.

Thanks for the help so far guys. I plan on keeping this post updated as I go along.
