Track Making in photoshop - Shortened Tutorial

Post by ddmx »

Here's something to get you started making a track in photoshop. I will not tell you what brushes to use or what opacity to use because that stuff always changes based on your terrain.hf file and what type of terrain your making.
Here we go:
1. Make a new blank document sized 1025 square. Set the background color to 4e4e4e
2. Make a new layer and select rectangular marquee.
3. Drag a square marquee and gradiant fill it from left to right holding shift with a solid black and a solid white color selected.
4. Hit control c to bring up the curves menu or go to edit>adjustments>curves
5. Shape the curve like you want your jump to look, you can see the adjustments made in real time.
5. Duplicate that layer, rotate it 180 degrees and merge the two layers. Set the layer type to screen.
6. You now have a single jump. Lower the opacity, test out the size, and start building your track from there.

Photoshop is tough, if your reading this tutorial because you don't know how to do it, chances are you should just use the in game editor. Give it a shot either way though.

It's a color in hex. About 30% gray.
