Xbox 360 (X360) control config - screenshots?
Xbox 360 (X360) control config - screenshots?
I am trying to run without ARCADE mode.
The game rides great with a joystick in Arcade, but I fall over instantly when I turn it off.
The joystick just seems natural... lean forward & back, turn left right, front & back brake buttons, etc.
I might have to try turning my joystick sensitivity way down in Control Panel.
I installed the Setups app & tried different peoples setups too.
I also tried an X360 controller, but I can't find a natural config like the joystick.
Can you guys post a few screenshots of your config so I can try them?

I have the brakes combined on mine, many like them seperate. I'm just waiting to get a foot brake to control the rear. I have big hands and having too many function buttons on the controller makes it difficult to jockey around the various buttons.

Thanks, that got me off to a good start...
I set my L trigger to clutch, but it didn't seem to be working.
I also set the LB for the rear brake because I want to square up turns - it works...
BUTT - then I found this: http://mxsimulator.com/benchracing3/vie ... f=1&t=4859
I am still on ARCADE mode, but using SETUP files from this thread...

on the xbox350 controller, you can only use one trigger at a time because they are on the same axis one is positive the other negative. thats why I have the L button as clutch and dont use L trigger.

King instead of using arcade just turn your stab up to about 75 this will allow the bike to turn a little better than arcade and as you get more comfortable just turn your stab down. Just my 2 cents.

It's not 360 controller, but this is what I use. If you can't use the triggers at the same moment, maybe put gear up/down on them. This setup felt a little sketchy in the beginning, but I got used to it and now it works pretty well.

a fairly good set up i think. comfortable for me. never felt awkward at any times..
and being as you dont usually use the rear brake and throttle at the same time, shouldnt have much trouble with them being on the same axis.

No, the charge cord in itself will not allow you to use your controller with MXS. Your computer will recognize that it is plugged in and will charge the controller, but the signals are still send via wireless, so your controller will not work. You need to buy a wireless adapter ($20 US @ Gamestop) or a wired controller.dylan22 wrote:with the 360 controller can you plug it in to the computer with the play and chagre chord? will that work or not? please help me out

You can manually map your controller so you can use it as you want by editing the "config" file in your MXS folder in your user files.
Open the config file with notepad then look for the section for the controls :-
throttle_key= is the action to be set
(0.000000,-1.000000) is the positive/negative settings
BU0836XInterface is the controller name
axis 1is the axis number
throttle_key=(0.000000,-1.000000)BU0836XInterface axis 1
front_brake_key=(0.000000,-1.000000)BU0836XInterface axis 2
rear_brake_key=(1.000000,-0.000000)BU0836XInterface axis 7
left_key=(0.000000,-1.000000)BU0836XInterface axis 0
right_key=(0.000000,1.000000)BU0836XInterface axis 0
clutch_key=(1.000000,0.000000)BU0836XInterface axis 6
upshift_key=(k)BU0836XInterface button 1
downshift_key=(k)BU0836XInterface button 0
dab_key=(k)BU0836XInterface button 2
back_up_key=(k)BU0836XInterface button 3
lean_forward_key=(0.000000,1.000000)BU0836XInterface axis 4
lean_backward_key=(0.000000,-1.000000)BU0836XInterface axis 4
pause_key=(k)BU0836XInterface button 11
step_key=(k).
rewind_key=(k)\
skip_key=(k)/
prev_key=(k)[
next_key=(k)]
console_key=(k)t
screenshot_key=(k)s
This is my control settings so very different from any other, but you will see how you can change the to the following ways to get 4 different setups on 1 axis.
(0.000000,-1.000000)
(0.000000,1.000000)
(1.000000,0.000000)
(-1.000000,0.000000)
Make sure to backup the original config file before you play about. Its a bit of an experiment sometimes but works.

It would be nice to make it switch to brake when both triggers are pressed like mx v atv.
Re: Xbox 360 (X360) control config - screenshots?
I would say it's important to have front brake on one of the triggers, or joysticks. Reason being, you want a natural log type brake application, at least in the front, like in real life, rather than either on or off. Less chance for your front end to wash I'd say.
