2010-06-20 snapshot

Changes:
  • Changed conditions required for rider to fall off. Rider now comes off when he's going 31 feet/sec relative to the bike or feels 43 G of acceleration.
  • Controllers get a dead zone by default. Now goes from 1/16 to 15/16 of the controller's travel instead of 0 to 1.
  • Now sets GL_PACK_ALIGNMENT to 1, which may fix the screenshot problems some people had.

Replace mx.exe or mxbin with one of the above files. I'd keep a backup of the originals since these aren't well tested.

does the change in deadzone for a controller affect the deadzone i already set mself? cause i find steering to be very awkward with this snapshot and i think it's the deadzone.

The deadzone change only happens when you initially set the axis. Instead of (0, 1), it will now be (0.0625, 0.9375).

I don't guess this is a really big deal, but something a little strange happened with this snapshot. I didn't think I landed with excessive force. I just wonder now if this is something that could cause a minor crash to become something that will completely take you out of a race. As soon as I landed it went into that crash mode where I couldn't do anything and the bike was just free-wheeling. I guess maybe it was just one of those crazy things lol.
