Re: Field of Dreams
Thanks guys, glad you like it
First, open your track's tileinfo and lower the roosts' "slip_threshold" value to something like 1-1.2 so the tires kick roost up almost constantly. Then ride a few laps at a time without erode and save the demo. Quit the game and open it again with erode and editor mode on and watch the demo, and don't forget to save the dispmap before quitting the replay.
Erode strength can be pretty much anything you like because the tires won't sink deeper than 10-20cm and then it's not in contact with the terrain anymore. Just don't put it too low or you'll have to watch the same demo over and over before getting anything noticeable. I used 0.3 and 0.4
To anyone saying the ruts are not ridable or there's no lines or flow in the corners, two words, throttle and control
Let me know what kind of lap times you guys are doing. My best is 3:11.6 and I haven't gotten a completely clean lap even once. I reckon 3 min and under is possible.
Of course, it's no secret, but it is time consuming.born2ride #771 wrote:I would like to know how have you realised ruts??

Re: Field of Dreams
I really liked the track. It's maybe not the best racing track or the most visually pleasing, but I really liked the challenge it gave. It was almost the same feeling when I first played this game, I was like nailed to the seat to ride "a couple more laps".
So far my best is 3:47, usually the steep sandy uphill at the end gets me really bad

Would have been much better if it was a GNCC style circuit.
As a motocross track it doesnt really work. Ruts are really well done though.

Re: Field of Dreams
i find riding the rm125 on this track so much smoother than riding any fourstroke..this is my fav track but can someone please tell me why the muddy section of my track is white..
Re: Field of Dreams
Its lagggy for me probably just my comp though. Rode a lap and it was pretty awesome
Re: Field of Dreams
Yo, what settings did you use for that dust roost. I have not been able to keep it in the air for anywhere near as long as you did.
