Re: Real MX Pics
he didn't have factory support (or so they say) for most of the 2011 SX season. I consider that privateer. Not a TRUE privateer though.

Re: Real MX Pics
When Canard and whoever was on his team were injured Honda started really supporting Chad Reed for the latter part of that season. Plus he was getting some help from PC, and he could pretty much buy full factory stuff if he wanted to.

And he had a legit semi, most privateers don't have that either...

Example of a true low-budget privateer
Manu Rivas (#921 Kawasaki KXF 450) put some fast laps during qualifying for the infamous 2008 edition of the Daytona SX but he didn't entered the heats or the main event. WHY?? "The conditions are hard, I can't afford breaking my bike this early in the season"

Yeah, totally.. you do realize that Chad had support from Pro Circuit the whole time, right? He also had a full size 18 wheeler and his own house, along with the same amount of practice as the other top guys. He also had factory support all the way through the nationals and for a few supercrosses, so that's about half of the race year.Ballsfalsky wrote:Chad reed... for almost all of 2011.die996 wrote:100% privateer stuff
