Multiple SX questions.
Im going to cut straight to the chase here. I have been riding the 2009 crf 250. I also taken stockys setup from the thread post your setups.
1. What gear are you guys mostly in when taking the corners? Ive Watched a lot of vídeos and I see a lot of guys in first gear so i replicated this technique even though I was always taught in real life to not go down past 2nd gear.
2. What gears are yall using to triple rythem sections? I can only double through all the them sections but when I try to go forthe faster lines I find myself nose diving a lot, no matter if I seat bounce, pull back at the last second, or just pull back the whole time. Is the cause of this being in to low of gear? Or high if gear?
3. I find myself hitting all the big triples in 2nd gear, am i on the right track here?
4. Whoops... Ive sat and watched lots of guys just though them pinned. Although I can only double or triple through. Ive tried skimming them in 1st gear pinned not a good idea... Ive tried 2nd half throttle and 2nd pinned. Nothing is seeming to work for me here. I do go through the whoops standing up and Leaning back. Lots of you guys dodge down riders in the whoops and can go wherever you wish the bike to go to Dodge that rider. Like yall have complete control. Yes i know it comes with practice, bit there must be some tips I dont know.
Thank you for your time. And everyones patience with me in the 03 Server.

2. What bike are you on?
3. Again depends the bike but I am a pretty good scrubber so I'm 3rd on a 250 and the scrub absorbs that speed. 2nd with no scrubs though
4. I go first pinned without leaning back or anything. Idk tho everyone has a different way of going through some Lean back each whoop and some hold back. Really depends on your setup and style of riding.

The skins are not working because you probably don't have the models, I suggest downloading most of these.bradley272 wrote:Im riding thw crf 250 2009. I tried dowloading other bikes and skins bit I can only her the wheels helet and tire graphics to work.

Re: Multiple SX questions.
Any tips on rythem sections? Thanks for the think. The mx SIM community has good to me
Re: Multiple SX questions.
I kind of just pin it as i come out the berm with a little bit of clutch and change gear as i come up to the jump to triple into a rhythm section.

Re: Multiple SX questions.
I mean really depends on the rhythm but most of em you have to quick shift to third gear for a triple in. You will get good responses if you post respectable posts like this rather then stupid posts like half new comers do.

Re: Multiple SX questions.
On a 250f and 450, i go 2nd in corners, and use some clutch to get out. 3rd over the triples, I'm not on my gaming computer, but I think I run -1,1 gearing. I can scrub fairly well so that is the only reason I can go 3rd over the triples. As for the whoops, I go 2nd or 3rd, but I don't go through them pinned, I kinda use a "throttle rhythm" and basically try to build up speed BEFORE i get to them, then kinda blip the throttle when the rear wheel is on the ground.

Re: Multiple SX questions.
Realistically nothing anyone can say will help you in sx other than practicing it. barrington made a nice track called 'learn sx' that actually stands up to its name, and is pretty solid to practice on.
On a side note, SX produces tons brain flow once you get it down (for me) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flow_(psychology) It is a very gratifying experience to say the least..
outdoors are still better though. have fun

Accomplishments: Nothing, but i almost win all races in 00, 01, 02, 03

Re: Multiple SX questions.
Thank you for all the informative information everyone... Well I am educated haha. I do research as much as possible before posting asking for questions from all the experienced racers, but sometimes you just have to ask. I hope I get to see you guys on the track in the near future!
Re: Multiple SX questions.
1. i usually downshift all the way to 1st and tap my rear brake entering corners. tapping the rear brake keeps the rear from sliding out too much when going to 1st. and then, depending on the corner, after i hit the gas ill do a quick upshift to 2nd and it gets the back end swinging around to cut the corner tight. thats my theory, anyway, and it usually works.
2. to triple into rhythms coming out of corners, its usually quick upshifts to 3rd, but sometimes 2nd depending on how fast i can get out of the corner. usually always 3rd though, just as a safety net. usually when i nosedive its either because im tapped in the gear im in and the front doesnt get any lift off the lip, or i did something really stupid! but when i first started i couldnt stop nosediving to save my life. now i automatically let off just a little and goose it at the takeoff, or pull back on take off, stand up, then push forward, which effectively pulls the front of the bike up because of how you pull on the bars. and thats also the basic way to seatbounce, at least thats what works for me. how hard you pull back, then push forward helps determine how much extra bounce you can get. at least it feels that way to me. but youll get your own method as you go. just keep at it, youll get it!
3. 2nd usually works fine, and some people think that its not realistic. most of the guys in the real world use 3rd, but again its a safety net. if youre not tapped, then you can use the gas gyro more effectively, and its always better to have more control over your speed and angle of your bike. however, IRL James Stewart rode almost a whole SX race in 2nd gear on his KX125, even doing the triples. so if a 125 can do it in 2nd in real life, why cant a 250f, especially in a game? LOL but once you start doing big whips, scrubs, and all that stuff, 3rd becomes your new best friend. even 4th, if you go for a big scrub. once you get more comfortable experiment and figure out what works for you. also, how you gear your bike determines what gear you will be in for certain sections. so keep that in mind.
4. just takes practice. some whoop sections ill stay in 1st pinned, others im in 2nd either pinned, or half throttle. some, like 2011 Jacksonville before the finish, ill be in 3rd, sometimes 4th. it all depends on the whoops and if theres a turn at the end. you can blaze the whoops, but what if you just go over the berm after them? i dont usually lean back, unless the rear starts skipping around, and even then usually letting off the throttle a little helps bring it back in line. changing lines in the whoops can be disastrous though. light touches to steer, and make sure your front end doesnt drop too low and catch a whoop too much and send you flying. if i have to change lanes to avoid someone i usually slow down a little then change direction. its safer.
just keep at it, practice, and sooner or later it will start clicking and youll figure out what works and what doesnt. the best thing is, you never stop figuring new things out! over 2 years and i still love this game, and havent gotten sick of it yet. its just too much fun, and the community is too cool. just remember, if you get frustrated just put the controller down and come back to the game later. no sense in getting all angry because of a game!
