...and the RMZ is badass, too. I'm sure that there are a lot of quirks that I could find since I'm such a picky person (ask the kids whose essays I had to grade last week - they were horrendous), but I trust that you have it under control after making several RMZs.
I really do feel like the balance of poly and detail is to utilize the LODs. If I were you, I'd make a 22k-tri KTM and then worry about poly count after the fact. I'm sure that there are a lot of places where you can conserve polys to keep the main parts of the bike as detailed as possible.
