it's not about check demos, the time at checking demos is almost the same at checking real stats
you have real stat, you use them :

It is official, and written in the official stats.
It looks more fair to us to take this official stats than go watch demos and determinate who made the holeshot.

Another even funnier point is that we do not possess all the demos, even though we asked others for them. Watching 52 demos, lets say it takes: 1m to load c1, 45s to load c2, 45s to load c3, 5s to load c3m2, 45s to load c4, 5s to load c4m2. (c1 = class one, c2 = class too). That is a looot of time for something minor, when the server page does that instantly more or less. This is a free series, be welcome to pay 20$ next year and I will personally go through all demos. Oh yeah, if we have them...

Think people would be more frustrated that Teutschenthal 450am didn't count since we don't have the demo, rather than actually have a holeshot taker.

And since the timing gate doesn't correspond to Holeshot line, that's not the right way to have an "Holeshot classification", because it doesn't represent exactly what happened in reality

I'm only going to speak for myself here, when I myself make tracks or place timing gates. I start at the start, placing 0 as the first timing gate, all the way until the end. Sometimes a section is more likely to be cut, then I might have to place a few more timing gates before the banner itself. I've tried before to add "random" timing gates afterwards and such, but a lot of the time, unfortunately, it screws up somewhere, when doing cameras, timing gate or just flaggers since it's way more likely that you mess up the order: 5 13 6 33 38 7 9 8 10 compared to 50 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10. This happened at Talavera, the old gates were still there and the finish was at the wrong place. Also someone working on the track switched up 1 single gate, which made the firstlap, flaggers and cameras fail, since it wasn't updated correctly. Next time if you wonder, ask if no information is given

Again, we could just set gate 1, 2 or 3 (which ever is the one the holeshot is counted from), but for simplicity reasons, we've opted not to. But who knows, it might be better next year.

wow ok, weird cause in Glen Helen i have the 2 holeshots and i was not the 1st right after the start i was first at the middle of the starting line in 1st moto, and way after in 2nd moto, and i still have the holeshot on stats

So why do you put the banner? Or you put the banner in correspondence of the timing gates, or is a completely useless thing!

Because the banner looks cool.
Should we get rid of the decals and every other object as well? They're kind of useless, aren't they? They just look cool.

I understand 10euro rage. I'd love to get that much money myself some day. But this holeshot system is known for years, it's been used for years and you should've known as well. The EMF crew put together a solid series. They put all their time in to do something FOR FREE for the community. For hosting events the guys get 90% hate, 10% say it's a solid series and they like it.

Please do not rage over a system which is known for years or over 10euros.

Could we also get rid of this series anyway... It's useless tbh, I'm only having fun...

I do agree that the banner should be placed over the timing gate that counts as the holeshot gate but cmon, these guys are working their asses off and have so much to think about they probably even didnt think about such an irrelevant thing.

so, i was right , default holeshot is gate 1 (= 2nd gate of "first lap" in your timing gates file)


also possibility to modify it whereever you want the holeshot (if it's not gate1) by modifying the trackinfo file before uploading it in the server

it's about things done well, and this is not

in the future it will be fine
