Glad I could help a legend on Sim explain something!Ddavis wrote:Precisely.USABMXER1 wrote:Wasn't comparing the 2, he was just using something that more people would end up noticing as an example to show that it has the same values basically.

While I doubt this would get any attention from anyone, you never know. Technically they can, but I believe the law is in place primarily for large corporations that lose lots of money because of the attacks. I'm guessing the damages here would be minimal.

Guess we will find out. I dont know why you would think its only big companies when jlv owns this game and hes possibly losing money because people are still buying this game and may have chosen not to because of ddos attacks. I would say its there to protect every company even the small ones. My dad owns a small business, do you think if someone shut down his ability to collect money from his customers by making his internet unusable the authorities would just say no biggie youre just a small company so you dont need to get paid? Id highly doubt that

Re: To anyone considering DDOS'ing during an rF event...
its not that they wont do anything.. They will, they just wont throw bunches and bunches of techs at it and build a legal team just for this case. Itll be one investigator, he will look at the documents, verify their integrity, call the authorities in each defendant respective areas and serve warrants. They will go after this because its quick, cheap and they can fine the fuck out of all of them which means..... yep you guessed it , the most important comodity to any govt.... MONEY!!! If there is a way to fine someone, they will do it...regardless of what it is if you break a law and they have proof handed to them and they can make some money off you then you bet your ass there will be a fine and warrants served.
Re: To anyone considering DDOS'ing during an rF event...
And the proof handed to them makes it very, very simple...
