Whats your pc?

I've heard conversation coming out of animal pens that is more intelligent than what is going on in here.

So with your theory on Hz relative to FPS what are your thoughts on this monitor?

That monitor haz too many pixels and too much Hz, will cause screen tear unless 4x titanz

I'm worried about it but if it works super cool. Will it be buzzwords or features? You'll need a new gen GPU to have the DP 1.4 output, and to push 4k image enough to use the 144Hz. I have never seen a monitor use quantum dots so it sounds nice but have no idea of the reliability/color of it but if it all comes together it will be a super neat monitor.

I'm looking to buy a monitor. Nothing big or fancy, just something decent and presumably better than my 40" TV I've been using for years.

~$150, 1080p, ~23", refurb/used is fine. Any recommendations? Thinking of getting this but would like to weigh my options.

This is what I settled with, at the time I built my pc any reasonable 144hz monitor wasnt in stock and I wasnt waiting. Picked this up and it I havent had any issues
23" version of the monitor is around 180$ if youre wanting that

So you don't notice any ghosting or input lag with an IPS panel?

Right on. I ended up getting that ASUS I posted a few post back. Here's a really good read for anyone looking at getting a new monitor. Can't wait for an IPS panel with a 75Hz refresh rate.

Just sold a 660 TI for $60 shipped, so that seems like a fair price. Is that your max budget for a GPU?

Just a cheap option to get my current computer a little further.

Right on. Are you still on integrated graphics?

If you got a few extra bucks, maybe snag this 760 for $75-$80.

no im not on integrated graphics, I live in aus so buying from the states isn't really worth it due to shipping.

Looks like end of the month release for AMD.

http://wccftech.com/amd-ryzen-7-1800x-1700x-1700/

I'm still waiting on benchmarks but if its even ~10% of Intel core to core they won big time. Everything in their line up has a direct response to an Intel CPU at about half the price and motherboard support has been around for months already and the manufactures have stepped up that the platforms will be equal as far as feature list goes.

Now to see if Intel lowers what they have out or if they try to hurry something else out the door.

Anything gonna be 50% faster than my 3930k at 4GHz? Only thing I don't like about my system still is the heatsink fans I bought that didn't have 3 pin connectors, they aren't soldered but work still .
