Post by checkerz »

JLV,

Is it possible to get a skip to a specific time when reviewing a demo? It would save a lot of time reviewing 35 minute national moto protests.

It can't seek instantly anymore since the current demo format has variable sized records in a linked list. I could speed it up a bit if you don't need correct timing and scoring.

Please don't get rid of this, it's been really nice to have since you fixed it.

Correct timing is important as we get a lot of entitled lapper protests.

Wouldn't this also affect the /readkey & /writekey feature you recently implemented? I was under the impression keys were stored in that file by timestamps.

The keycam doesn't care about the time when timing gates are hit. Its timestamps are separate

It'll be hard to speed seeking up much while keeping the timing. I could try doing something like skipping every other frame which would speed it up while losing some precision in the timing.

Seems like somehow, the game can read the laps. -see the lap chart in the servers page-
Maybe skipping to "X" lap would be easier for you JLV?

No, the demos don't have any scoring info in them. It's recalculated as the demo plays back.

I appreciate the response. We will be fine as is. Don't want to take away time for something that isn't the solution when it can go towards online deformation
