Tire Pressures
Don't care about all the different tires and crap that other people want, but is there any way we could get tire pressure in the game? I don't know how effective they would be or how it would work but it would be cool.

Re: Tire Pressures
In that case we'd also need bike damage and/or punctures in the game otherwise there'd be no reason to run anything but the softest setting right?
Re: Tire Pressures
I mean there would be a reason. What about sand tracks? you need to lower the pressure for better traction on sand tracks and you'd need to change it for hard pack and all of them?Rayvenator wrote:In that case we'd also need bike damage and/or punctures in the game otherwise there'd be no reason to run anything but the softest setting right?

Re: Tire Pressures
Why would you want more tire pressure on hardpack?
The softest setting would always be superior

Unless your rims could be split into 2 pieces or you fall off the bike easier.Rayvenator wrote:Why would you want more tire pressure on hardpack?

Yeah exactly that's why I said we'd need bike damage or punctures in the game for this to make any differenceWahlamt wrote:Unless your rims could be split into 2 pieces or you fall off the bike easier.Rayvenator wrote:Why would you want more tire pressure on hardpack?

Doesn't less pressure mean more resistance?Rayvenator wrote:Yeah exactly that's why I said we'd need bike damage or punctures in the game for this to make any differenceWahlamt wrote:Unless your rims could be split into 2 pieces or you fall off the bike easier.Rayvenator wrote:Why would you want more tire pressure on hardpack?

Less pressure = more traction and more resistance.
High pressure = less traction and less resistance.
Matter of what you like the most. Will obviously change every track and IMO is a cool thing to have.

In roadracing that might apply but I doubt roll resistance is a thing in motocross .Sandhapper wrote: Doesn't less pressure mean more resistance?

At least I've never seen it that way. Always experimented with as low pressure as we dared for maximum grip.
Re: Tire Pressures
Have you ever ridden with a flat front? That'll get you hooked up in the corners.
From what I understand, MXS traction is handled in a way that makes tire pressure adjustment irrelevant — we basically define properties of how the tire interacts with the dirt rather than properties of the dirt itself. It would be a super cool adjustment to have, though.
