So I tried doing a 3D scan with my drone on my yzf250 and this is how it came out.
Anyone help with finding a app or suggestions on how to do it ? I know it's gonna be way too high poly for sim but it's for reference photos for modelers.

I cant help with an app but I can say that scanning models from irl is a pretty interesting idea, no matter if its too high poly or not
Re: A good app for 3D scanning
That would make modelling alot easier if you were to get a perfect scan it would make the models so much closer to perfect!reference photos for modelers.

Sorry that I went off yesterday in ts, but damn i was asking myself how it'd turn out!
I personally think it's really good for a first try!

I'm gonna try and take it to a parking lot to see if i can get it a little more detailed. Ruben said a white room would work amazing but that's a lot of work.Andy_Hack wrote:Sorry that I went off yesterday in ts, but damn i was asking myself how it'd turn out!

Use bed sheets hung up in a garage, not perfect but would be pretty easy to do.Bubba40 wrote:I'm gonna try and take it to a parking lot to see if i can get it a little more detailed. I did think about the white room idea but that doesn't really seem to be the problem, as i know you did it outside the trees aren't the problem its more taking the height from the ground which is giving the problem not sure how your shit works hunter but i would guess there is an app out there which would let you have a sequence of photos or a panoramic photo which would get pieced together by an app of some sort and creates the bike maybe. But a positive to use a white room it would be easier to get a neutral light rather than one specific light source.mack| spokes wrote:Use bed sheets hung up in a garage, not perfect but would be pretty easy to do.Bubba40 wrote: I'm gonna try and take it to a parking lot to see if i can get it a little more detailed. I know Ruben enjoys making apps maybe he will make one specifically for this

Not true actually. being anywhere appart from outdoors is not ideal unless you have a crazy studio light setup or windows from all sides. with something to dull the light.mack| spokes wrote:Use bed sheets hung up in a garage, not perfect but would be pretty easy to do.Bubba40 wrote:I'm gonna try and take it to a parking lot to see if i can get it a little more detailed. I always do 3 "laps" around the object one from high up one mid and one low. more pics=better I used 50imgs for the yzf
pretty much the worst conditions possible. Being in the shadow works but always look for a cloudy dull day to shoot.

This was shot at a better day and in the middle of the lawn. okay results but not of much help other than getting the overall shape accurate. which is reason more than enough to scan IMO
I got some errors aswell the first few tries. sometimes just taking new pics same spot same lighting can fix it.
