I've heard conversation coming out of animal pens that is more intelligent than what is going on in here.

Movie Recommendations

Post by John23 »

I don't know about all you guys, but nothing wraps up a night quite like a good movie. I tend to watch horror movies, just because they make me feel a little manly.

If any of you are looking for a good movie to watch, I recommend "Demonic", made in 2015. Really good movie!

What movies have you watched that you can recommend?

I like Christopher Nolan movies, or plot lines that you can't see coming. Not all of these follow that but I don't generally watch just "raw action" things. In no particular order.

The Prestige (except this one, by far my number 1 favorite movie)
Balto (childhood favorite, I can still watch and quote the whole script)
Momento
Shutter Island
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Truman Show (This and Sunshine are Jim Carrey's best movies ever, not that is a bold claim)
The Boy and the Beast
The Girl on the Train
If I Stay
Hacksaw Ridge
Black Hawk Down
Donnie Darko
Arrival
Cashback
Get Out
Swiss Army Man
Baby Driver
Ip Man
Sucker Punch (rare exception to me "raw action" films, really well done)
Lord of the Ring/Hobbit trilogies
Harry Potter series
Hunger Games series
Senna
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
Ted
Sausage Party
Popstar

Heck yeah! Was not expecting to see that in here, but it's a great little movie.

Some classics:
Apocalypse Now
2001: A Space Odyssey
Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans
Lawrence of Arabia
Toy Story

And a movie I wish I could have shot:

Not recommending this movie but WHY DO THEY NEED TO REMAKE A CLASSIC WITH ALL THIS STUPID SHIT IN IT!?

The original Jumanji is one of my top 5 favorite movies of all-time and this newer version looks so fucking dumb. The "thump thump thump" of the Jumanji board was so spooky and still gives me chills to this day, and it looks like there's none of that on this one. Robin Williams was amazing in the original and Kirsten Dunst was so good too. It's dumb they have these hipster ass kids turn into Jack Black, The Rock, and Kevin Hart... oh and they have super powers. What?! If anyone saw the original, especially as a kid, you understand how epic it is.

My top 5 favorite movies in no particular order gotta be:
Jurassic Park
Jumanji
Hook
The Goonies
Shawshank Redemption

Okay top 6, can't leave out Back to the future.
