GP tracks are trash for you because you can’t hit corners 4th and 5th gear wide opened with berms above half the size of your bike in game. It’s okay I would call a track trash to if I was getting crushed in the race because the track was diffcuilt.

A little bit of a exaggeration wouldn't you say? I know on some tracks ruts could have been more shallow however there are situations where ruts do get quite deep.

I gotta admit I don't think Hunter rode the '17 nationals because the ruts were actually pretty realistically scaled, at least compared to some versions of tracks in previous years.

I think Hunter likes the GP style tracks which have ruts about the size of Glen Helen on a Thursday evening at 4pm.

Well, sim "ruts" seem to more often than not be more like berms or "all raised up" where as in real life I would say ruts are mainly dug down, while still raising the outside a bit. Depending on soil etc.

For sure. In the past this had lots to do with the bike/rider collisions hitting the insides of the rut causing rider falloffs and front end lock. I think the updated collisions helped with allowing ruts to be dug in a bit more than before you just had to be mindful to have the inside of the dug out section to have a smooth incline instead of being cupped.

Overall it is somewhat a moot point with online erode being implemented. In my opinion erode will change the entire racing experience if the track is prepared correctly to allow multiple lines to develop.
