NEW GUYS wanting to know EVERYTHING that MXS has to offer

Post by FATALx4318 »

Myself along with many other people are new to this game. Is there a thread or somewhere a database of all the things you can do on sim. AND I'm talking everything. I KNOW that MXS has a ton to offer but just wished it was easier to learn all about it without have to search YouTube for videos. Any HELP would be greatly appreciated!! :D BOOM first ever post

Stroken appreciate the response. I’ve seen your videos online bud. I’ve actually wantched them on a few occasions. Deffinitly helpful. I will be checking them out. I just didn’t know if there was a database or something that breaks it all down.

Basically I don’t understand how ppl initially learned the game inside and out. All the in and out of game commands??? Is there a user manual for mx sim?

Type these into In-game Chat

/Togglefps - Show's FPS ingame.
/Togglespeed - Show's how fast you're going.
/Togglespy - Allows you to spectate other riders online

Unfortunately not! It would be super helpful. Thankfully, you are not missing out on too much when you take the game at face value, but it would be cool if a big old list of chat commands and tag line modifiers was available.
This is a block of text that can be added to posts you make. There is a 255 character limit.

Thats for all of the commands.
http://www.tmfactory-racing.com/ is an excellent place for tracks/bikes/templates.
You'll need winrar/7zip (etc) to extract files to put them in game. (download before downloading tracks)
Theres over 100 setups for you to try out here : http://forum.mxsimulator.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4273
My best advice is pick one and stick with it. "pryds" setup on page 43 is excellent to start with.
If you want to play online, http://mxsimulator.com/servers/ That page takes you to a list of servers that have recently completed races.
To see peoples bikes/gear you also have to have them in your personal folder.
To not be (for better words) strongly disliked, Don't punt people off the track.
Google is your best friend. To find a track, all it takes is "track name mx simulator" if it's public, 9 times outta 10 itll be there first thing in results.

Hope some of this helps!

mxslobby.com is a good place to get your feet wet on the racing.

Here's a bunch of random stuff that I have bookmarked, hope some of it is useful. Some of it may not be applicable now though :?.

Gearing explained, with tool: http://forum.mxsimulator.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=29598

Also take a look through the tutorial forums for tracks and model/skins. Unfortunately there's really not a good repository of general information for the game. A lot of the documentation for features when they are first added are in the snapshot release notes, or update release notes.

I wish! Lots of helpful stuff being linked in this thread, but generally finding answers is harder than the first time you made a lap around Rabbit Hill without falling. Photobucket's plan to destroy the internet hasn't helped things either.
