Gotcha. Here I was hoping they were talking about being able to look left or right while in first person. Maybe some day!jlv wrote: ↑Sun Jun 09, 2024 3:00 amWhat's wanted is a camera mode where the camera up axis is locked to the world up axis. (In other words, the camera pitch and roll are locked with only yaw matching the rider's direction.) I don't actually think it'd work well since it'd make it hard to feel how far you're leaning over but it's something MX Bikes players want.

Re: Developer's log
Just tought about it yesterday during the race cause i've tried the black bar over the gap to hide it, would it be possible for you to do like a /togglegap, /toggle pos and things like that to made the pitboard how we want, like if we want to hide the gap or the position we are in, without having to modify the pitboard with black bar

That'll be part of the UI scripting. You'll be able to put anything on the pitboard by modifying the UI script.RFX_corentin_12 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2024 6:58 pm Just tought about it yesterday during the race cause i've tried the black bar over the gap to hide it, would it be possible for you to do like a /togglegap, /toggle pos and things like that to made the pitboard how we want, like if we want to hide the gap or the position we are in, without having to modify the pitboard with black bar

Re: Developer's log
Would you get rid of all the dynos and only keep the basic like fc450, crf450, not like the crf450(2018) and so we dont have 5000 dynos useless in game?
And/or woudl it be possible for you to do something so we could name the bikes maybe like "450-2024 Impact MX- JULIAN.png" and it goes automatically on all 450s dynos, same for 250f and others bikes, so it could save us from doing multiple bikes for just for them to be on multiple dynos

The old bike files are needed for compatibility. Do you mean just leave them out of the menu?RFX_corentin_12 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2024 7:48 am Would you get rid of all the dynos and only keep the basic like fc450, crf450, not like the crf450(2018) and so we dont have 5000 dynos useless in game?

Re: Developer's log
Pretty sure it would be a skin-easy thing. Name the skin generic450-skinname.png and then this skin will show up under every 450 dyno possible. This will eliminate people having to make several skins/jm files for different models.jlv wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2024 1:32 amThe old bike files are needed for compatibility. Alternatively you could just do genericbike-skinname.png and have it show up under every single dyno.

There's no guarantee that they'll always be compatible though. Just because I haven't made bike specific geometry before doesn't mean it will never happen.

Is there a way you could add the ability to tilt the camera when we go free cam? it would add a lot for guys who like to take screenshots.

Re: Developer's log
Hate to reply to an old thread as such but I put about 1500 hours (sad I know lol) into MX bikes from 2020 early 24 before coming back to sim.jlv wrote: ↑Sun Jun 09, 2024 3:00 amWhat's wanted is a camera mode where the camera up axis is locked to the world up axis. I don't actually think it'd work well since it'd make it hard to feel how far you're leaning over but it's something MX Bikes players want.
While at first it does feel really weird to not have your camera attached to the bike lean, you do get used to it and coming back to the "attached to bike" sim camera feels quite alien, you do have the option to run it like that in mx bikes but most run the "dynamic" camera which follows the riders head but isn't locked to the bike as such.
Personally I think I would end up using one that's not attached to the bike lean angle, the only time it gets hard on MXB is when you can't see the bike, but that's fixable with view controls.
Looking forward to whats to come with SIM, I know a few "mxb" friends of mine are put off by the FP camera so they haven't moved over yet.

Re: Developer's log
Jlv could you add a deadzone settings like for the sticks and maybe L2/R2 or LT/RT

Re: Developer's log
You can edit the config file for that right now. Make the first number in the parenthesis closer to the second number for a larger dead zone.RFX_corentin_12 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 1:03 pm Jlv could you add a deadzone settings like for the sticks and maybe L2/R2 or LT/RT
It would be nice to have it in the UI. Probably sometime after I add UI scripting.
