First person camera (Smooth)
First person camera (Smooth)
Would it be possible to smooth out the first person camera so it doesn't bounce around so much with every bump? In real life our bodies absorb most of this shock allowing use to have stable vision especially when standing. Severe camera shake when going over braking bumps makes it very difficult in this game to accurately pick lines at times. Most of us are used to the bouncing camera somewhat, but I think this should still be addressed in a future update.
Re: First person camera (Smooth)
I've been thinking about this.
How about making the camera "separated" from the rider. So it has a neutral angle in relation to the rider, and when the bike hits a quick bump the camera takes a while to catch up with that movement.so when you have lots of bumps the camera doesn't move around that much. If that makes any sense at all.
because for example in SX whoops you see all the riders holding their head perfectly still while their body does all the work.
of course the camera would still have to adjust fast enough for quick drops (like gravity cavity) or small and high double jumps (like a finish line double).

This would help incredibly... After just a few laps in hangtown, I have to stop playing for a few minutes because the bumps make me dizzy, this would help a lot!

Re: First person camera (Smooth)
Yea, I got really dizzy last night trying to play 1st person after 2 beers and a couple shots of crown. It didn't work. As long as the camera tilt angle remains equal to the bike angle, I don't see why this couldn't work. I think maybe some of the "feel" for where the wheels are might become more vague, but I think this idea is worth experimenting with. Kinda like another shock absorber under the camera.

Re: First person camera (Smooth)
the rider needs to be more loose, thru the woops it`s like a rock on the bike right now...

Re: First person camera (Smooth)
this is exactly what i think. in the game, the rider's whole body is kinda bouncing up and down. i think it should be more like a real rider going through whoops, where the arms and legs are doing most of the work, and their heads are still.Servatis wrote: in SX whoops you see all the riders holding their head perfectly still while their body does all the work

Re: First person camera (Smooth)
Seems cool, but I know this is a big part of alive that ruins it, cause you cant feel what the bike does, you could maybe have a couple of random unknown crashes. While this could be compensated for with maybe an adjustment slider, "rider regidety" or something. Spelling fail.

i do get a bit dizzy when playing for a long time , a more stable camera could really help a lot!
Re: First person camera (Smooth)
I was trying to play in first person the other day and I was thinking of this suggestion. I would like it if the first person camera was exactly like the 3rd person. Where it still moved up and down with the bike, but it didn't lean over in turns or bounce around on bumps. Since I think I'm the only one that suggested it like this, it might be better to have an option of how you like the camera.
Re: First person camera (Smooth)
It's not too bad now, on really rough tracks (Hangtown) it does move a lot but I think I'm used to it by now. I don't know if I'd be able to play any other way, but if it was made an option I say why not try it for those who want it.

Yeah, I know it would be hard for people that are used to it to change now. I was thinking the option could be like how there is an option for Rigid 3rd Person Camera. Just set it to Yes or No.
Re: First person camera (Smooth)
Yeah, that would work good.
