You should get permission from the original track creators.

Re: Wheres the new snapshot @jlv
Would be nice to see a decal drop/masking ability make its way in the game. I really do not know how hard it would be to implement but even games from the early 2000's were achieving a similar concept. I think it would make spotting new developing lines much easier and would encourage more line for...

Editor Improvements
Hey JLV, 1. Improved Brush Response I'm not sure if this is entirely due to the game or my system, but when drawing with the raise/lower/smooth/etc. tools in the editor, the brush can't keep up with my movements. I really started noticing this when I got a tablet in hopes of speeding up my rut build...

Re: Lets talk erode?
Ha, those ruts at lorretta's were gnarly! I would love to see erode transfer from one moto to the next, as roughness could build up realistically over the course of several races, as opposed to going from smooth to full rough in 30min. I would think it's actually terrain.png that you would need to s...

Re: Still Getting stutters
I just finished the rF ams race on Washougal. The first half of moto 1 things were running pretty smoothly, but later in the moto it got progressively stuttery, to the point where it was nearly unplayable. Between motos I quickly tried turning graphics settings down, but moto 2 was stuttery from sta...

Re: Wheres the new snapshot @jlv
I do agree with the dynamic shadows, at least for the moving objects. I'd consider it a missing factor in the physics of the game, particularly for 3rd person players to get a judgement of the wheels proximity to the ground. x1000 Single most difficult thing about playing 3rd person is not knowing ...

Re: [Video Tutorial] How to Import Terrain and Place Continuous Fencing and Banners
Sick! In part 3, it's an array modifier that "links" your banner model to the bezier curve right? I didn't catch where you mention that.

Re: sphere mapped sky to sky box conversion
- Run "makeskybox.bat". You might have to edit the first line depending on where you have POV-Ray installed. I am able to render the images manually one at a time, but when I try to run the batch file, I get "Possible parse error: cannot find skybox.pov" Any ideas on how to fix this? I am using POV...

Re: erode sucks
Hi Tanner, I really don't like this post! It's very offensive to not only the game developer but the organization rF. You should think about what you post before you post this type of thing! +1 fax I mean. Tanner isn’t wrong. The only thing that is bad about erode is it’s kinda sharp not smooth lik...

Re: Tracks to race the computer
Welcome! Unfortunately the AI suck, so I recommend time trial/ghost racing for single player practice. Or, you can download demos from the rF races and race against the replay. But once you can start making laps without crashing constantly, there's no need to be intimidated by racing online. The els...

Re: [RELEASE] Kittery Lake Compound
Killer job on this! The MX track is lots of fun. I dig the environment—pretty simple, but immersive. The lake, surrounding terrain, and peaceful ambient sounds really put you in the world. Too bad you can't take those stand-up jet skis for a spin! My only real critique is that a few turns could use ...

Re: Is a Ray Tracing Mod Possible?
Damn, that Niklas Sandbox screenshot looks like MX vs. ATV. It'd be interesting to see a normally rendered screenshot for direct comparison. That dude's tracks look insane anyway.

Re: found sth.
That is basically what we already do for replicas. Notice how all the examples are far more zoomed out than would be needed for a normal sized track. The resolution of this height data is very low at normal track scales, so while it is very helpful for getting the overall layout of the terrain, it i...
