Re: Political Debate Thread

Congrats to senator Mullins for clearly stating that he's not afraid to bite, and he don't care where. Oklahoma must be proud!

Re: The Other Racing Games Topic

WRC is dope! I built a car I can't use yet, but the racing so far has been grueling! I had a 17 mile stage in one event. I know from Jimmy Broadbent there is a 21 mile stage, so I'm prepared. It's a very involved and busy game with a ton of features and possibilities. I give it two thumbs up. Here's...

Johnson certainly doesn't have it since he toed the line on the stolen election and Roe v. Wade. That's not sane. We'll see when it comes down to gov't. shutdown. So stupid that it became a hostage for the right.

Re: Political Debate Thread

Looks like the House majority just wants a domestic terrorist as leader based on the picks so far. Sounds legit.

What are the teeth made of? Must be something hard if it has to shred springs and gears. Heat treated 4140. Hard ChroMoly. Any harder and they'd be too frangible and shatter under shock load, even though it has a reversal mechanism. The blades are held to .0005" tolerance on the thickness. I work a...

Here's the cross-section of the laser scan showing the detached retina. It's almost normal now. It's just like looking through wet glass now.

Re: MXS Twitter

Thank God for modern medical science! It's amazing what they can do now. For years, anytime someone has a laser out and is playing around with it (R.I.P. Jeff Alessi) I always say "Careful, you can detach a retina with that, but if you go to medical school long enough, you can reattach it!" The gre...

No. The last bubble has dissipated and it's still blurry. Slowly getting better. I have a big floater in there and will probably need that removed later. Tuesday after next I get a check up and I'll ask about it. Old age sux!

Re: MXS Twitter

I'm stoked on the new work though. Day four last Thursday I go to the ER with a detached retina totally unrelated to trauma. All out-of-pocket cuz I'm not covered yet. Genetic macular degeneration. I do NOT recommend that odyssey to anyone. Panic inducing loss of vision. Finally back to work tomorr...

After sitting at a desk and only programming for the last 5 years, I'm back to machining again. 11 foot long, one foot diameter, 3900 pound ChromeMoly Steel shafts! One or two parts a day. I'm really gonna have to get used to standing again. My hips and legs hurt, I'm stoked on the new work though. ...

Doh! Aren't you too old and too big for a 20"? Mine wouldn't break when I was skateboarding at 46 and tried to shoulder roll only to get an AC joint separation. So much pain I almost passed out! The sky was magenta and the ground was white, twice. I didn't pass out though!

Re: 2023 SX Discussion

Speaking of going down, Barcia hit so hard that I noticed that his right side of his shoulders looked significantly shorter than his left. That's because of several broken ribs, a badly broken collarbone and the complications that accompany such injuries. Pretty bad for a first-gear endo. Still, we ...

I'd give him a pass for a random crash in this. He is a monster talent for sure, but even Honda doesn't give him a pass it appears. I'm not distorting the truth or blowing it out of proportion, but it has gotten less frequent of late. I'm just saying it gave me a bad feeling when he had that big of...
