hello people and jlv,

it is possible for some bikes, to create other sounds jlv?
So for some 250f darker and more powerful sounds? :D
that would still really really cool!

I hope we'll can do this one day.
By adding support to wav files or/and release a synthetiser to allow modder to make sounds for bikes, environment, and maybe some events like contact with ground. (don't forget on key sound to yell lapped players with your voice JLV ;p.)
This should help to greatly improve the immersion.

I think its not that easy as GIVE us .. I think he could try to make something out for us to add voices sounds.. Maybe like own sounds for track?
Like a new file where you select like voices to the crowd or environment so you can have it personal for track of yours.
Engine sound system needs update so somehow if that would be possible there where in game mod for that, SIMPLE mod, like deep of the voices and such..
But then a separated file for wav files you could make them with some program.
Hard to explain in English such things as this.
Hope something makes sense.

But the easy sound system here to use for now is the environment sounds for tracks, just a file where you have the code what are it covers like 4 coordinates somehow there (idk how you make the decal file but similar) And then like @desktop/environmentsounds1 | then some more info like volume.
That How you could place many different sounds there and select how high you want them to sound there, you could just do car sounds to sound like they are coming behind a forest and stuff like that.
that's just a suggestion for environment sounds.
I don't know how that's coded ingame but i think its easier to make a new line to the game than change the engine sounds?
If i knew how the game runs i could say more. For now waiting for JLV:s comment.

i dont know its pretty hard to get them accurate im sure but im sure he can get the idle pretty spot on if he tryed :wink:

why are you guys talking about environment sounds? when your riding you dont hear anything but your bike and other bikes, roost hitting you, and the occasional scream from someone.. theres no point in adding a bunch of sounds that will just get old and annoying in no time at all. so im definitely with kawasakis on this.. just need to work on engine sound, which are honestly not that bad anyway, considering theyre one of the most complicated sounds to mimic.

It's not just a matter of dropping in a wav file. The game has to know exactly where each exhaust stroke is in the sound in order to match it up with the in-game motor (or at the very least match it up with the other waveforms it's crossfading with). What I have to do to make it work is write some software that lets you go through the waveform and mark each exhaust pulse, and then scale each pulse to match a predetermined duration. Once the samples are all in the same time frame like that they should blend together well. Even with custom software it won't be an easy job to mark an entire sample though. If you look at a recording it just looks like noise sometimes.

Those are environment sounds also.
I didnt mean all the sounds like birds (alltougth it would be realistic you fail for second your motor wont work as the game wont let you and you hear someone say HAAHAA LOSER!) that what i ment...
I agree that engine sounds would be better, but since the game needs to be exatly codet for them i think its mayby 2011-2012 projects?

That would be awesome. Just imagine =). I think that the sound of a game like this, should be alittle better but there is nothing wrong with what we have now. "But" It would be really cool if we could get some update inte the near future. It 2010 with new options.
