We know what 1TB means. Why didn't you just get one 1.5TB drive instead of getting two drives?

Maybe he needs a 500 GB RAID 1 partition. It'd be a decent setup, 500 GB of mirrored space for critical data and 500 GB for stuff you don't really care about.

Just curious, JLV, what are the specs of your PC?

My main system is a Core i3 530 with a fanless GT 240. I was completely happy with the performance of it until Blender Cycles came out. Now I'm thinking of going back to a loud graphics card again. Wish there was a good CUDA card that was fanless.

I used to have a software RAID 5 setup, but now I just have one internal drive and use rsync to back up to an external drive. Drives are so big now that RAID 5 isn't worth it to me anymore.

I wanted a fanless card, not a space heater!

hahahah I had to get a new case for christmas along with a new CPU cooler. My room would literally get to 90 degrees. I would open my window in the dead of winter to get my room "cooler"

That's surprising, JLV, I assumed you would have some mega super PC, with like 2 GTX 680's or something.

I haven't found any of my computers lacking in speed for the last decade or so, so I try to go for less fans instead of more speed these days. I guess Moore's law has run out.
