Mxsim crashing like crazy
I run windows 7 and that may be the problem. I do run in compatibility mode for xp. I'm running the latest snapshot. Crashing happens everytime I play. I may get through 2 or 3 races before it happens. I have got the error window pop up saying "out of virtual memory" a few times. Most of the time it just freezes. Some times the sound goes off when it happens and some times it plays the last quarter of a second of sound over and over. Seems to happen the most right when the guy in 1st crosses the finish line but not every time. I only play online. I'll try to play some single player today and post if it happens. All other games (and i play alot of games) are running fine. I understand if there is no support for this being a new os and all. Figured I would throw it out there and see if anyone else is having issues with win7 and mxsim. Thank you.

Thanks man. This is a fresh install.
I've even wiped the drive and reinstalled with only mxsim on it just to check.

If you have an ATI graphics card check this thread.

If it's a fresh install he really won't have anything to clean, his error is from low virtual memory anyway.brent126 wrote:maybe even this.... http://mxsimulator.com/benchracing3/vie ... f=5&t=3004

Re: Mxsim crashing like crazy
Looking at that post about the 64bit ati drivers, I definately believe that is my problem. Tried going to the older driver and it's got a bug in it I don't want to deal with where it default overscan to 15% on my monitor without a way to change it. I went back to the latest driver and been playing a good bit without a crash until just a bit ago. Thanks for the help. Think I'm gonna deal with the crashing for now and set up a dual boot with 32bit xp just for this game when I get some time.

Did you tried the 9.7 version, because all is working good now for me... And I got more FPS on other games too.
I always check lastest drivers but this time, until I find newer's working, i use the 9.7. I had also some problems resizing openGL windows with seven built'in drivers. I have an ATI radeon HD4870.

If don't want to use other than lastest driver, i recommand to lower the ground texture resolution, disable FBO, and you should be abble to player for a long time without crashing.

Re: Mxsim crashing like crazy
9.7 has a defaul to 15% underscan set to hdmi outputs for tvs that overscan. Problem is is that the setting to go back to 0% is missing. There is a wierd way of getting to it in 9.9. So I went back to it.
I set up a dual boot with win7-64bit and win xp-32bit. Set up mxsim on the xp partition. Figured all would be ok. It ran for a bunch of races then bam.. out of virtual memory. I'll try your suggestions if it happens again.
Thank you.
