DP, the screenshot didnt attach so heres a gyazo. You cant see the third dot unless you open in a new tab, but as mentioned before its like sparkles, theres a lot more dots appearing and disappearing that a screenshot cant capture.

I've reproduced the bug, or at least something very similar. Don't know the cause yet but this is a big step!

I'm pretty sure that's the same thing as this. I've thought about it and I might actually be able to fix it in the vertex shader. Basically, the terrain coordinates are always integer multiples of the scale, so if I divide by the scale, round to integer, and then multiply back it should force consistency.

Does turning off lens flares eliminate the black textures for you guys?

it did something ha still had to have hidden hud in target line though

Yes, when turning on lens flares it's pretty reliable on reproducing. Looks like you finally found it! Hidden HUD and Lens Flares enabled :lol:

Not sure if it has anything to do with the resolution or if it's just a bug in the newest snapshot.
I think I have an idea to fix this. Is there a reliable way to reproduce this so I know it works?

I'll just upload the track tomorrow when I get up, it's happening pretty consistently on all tracks I work on with 4096x4096 terrain maps. As far as I can tell the height of the terrain has no effect and it doesn't matter how big/small it is, they always seem to pop up.

It happens pretty consistently for me in the bottom right hand of the terrain
