Just out of curiosity, any chance we could see a before/after image of the collision spheres? I remember seeing a picture of them some time ago, but it would be interesting to see what they look like now vs what they looked like previously.

Tried it out and honestly everything works like before, except better just in the way I imagined it was meant to be. I don't know how low you guys have used to go in corners and stuff, but for sure all my few corner slips (during many successful laps) has been all realistic and something I would assume happening in real life. I've noticed some fast riders tend to ride in a way that is far from realistic and that might be the issue when you have used the bar end collider as a third wheel literally in corners and now when it's gone you have to change your habits.
Also I'm pretty sure the twitchy front end feeling and stuff like that is just a placebo since I don't see the logic behind it, as only the collider has changed. Secondly I don't feel any problem or difference there.
Im gonna have to agree here, i think the update is way better!

I was getting frustrated with my front end always sliding out on me lately, struggling with setup etc until Justin Smedley told me to delete the new zzztestzy saf file, im guessing this is the new handlebar collisions? Anyways I deleted that and my front end problems completely vanished. I'm not sure if its placebo or what but it definitely does seem to make a difference. I just never clued in and thought my front end problems have to do with the new update. But yeah, front end does feel a lot lighter kinda in the new snapshot.

I keep getting the same "mx.exe has stopped responding" when I quit the game, and sometimes once I quit the game, I will launch it later and will get the error that the shortcut has been deleted. I then have to restart my entire system because I will try to redownload the snapshot and move it into my personal folder and keep getting the error that I need permission to complete the task, but I'm admin..

This is an example of the ridiculous random crashes. I get into the apex of the corner and its like the bars just go straight and my rider continues to lean over.

Looked like you hit the bale collision and got front end lock from it.

In my opinion front end lock is too sensitive. Would be nice especially for holeshots if a small tap on the front tire didn't cause a crash.

In my opinion the new snapshot could cause some of new crashes but this instance was a poor example. I have had to change my advanced stability a bit to compensate for the new handlebar collisions as I was leaning over too quickly entering berms losing traction and sliding out. I do feel certain low speed fall offs are worse now as it seems the collisions being smaller dampen the impact less than before as you tip over at low speeds.

Image

Overall I think with some changes to raise the steering dampening to make front end lock less likely to occur would help.

Remember, SX isn't where this update will show it's improvement. Go ride outdoor tracks and see how much better it is in the ruts.

Did you read my post? I offered a suggestion of what I think the culprit may be. I didn't throw out a blanket statement I tried to offer what I think may solve the problem.

I said that front end lock is too sensitive. You hitting the bale collision with your front tire doesn't have anything to do with the updated bar collision is what I was saying. Whether or not you were using the new snapshot hitting the bale collision and the front end locking would have happened regardless.

I wasn't posting for the sheer fact of it being you. I would rather offer a suggestion to JLV with what I think could possibly help vs nixing the update all together as I feel it is a step forward not backward. If you want to be simple minded and believe my post was directed at you specifically that is your prerogative. It wasn't.
