Well i have tryed to play in 3rd person but i cant get it to work? It just stays in the 1st person mode all the time, maybe it's because im still using the demo version or something?

set your stab at 50... and adjust you roll dampening untill it stays upright on its own.

-Ride a 125cc
-Turn automatic shifting off. It is easier to control your speed and braking if you can shift manual.
-I find the best track to start with: Alcrest or Rabbit Hill
-I Find it easier to ride if the auto clutch feature is on like 3000 rpm.
-Ride it first person
-Ride it like it is a real motocross bike and learn from falling :)

Good luck
+1... every word of it.

And use stop wheelies, and antilock brakes til you get the feel for it too. especially if you're using a key board. I really only started having fun once I got a controller though.

Also, take some time to set your camera angle and FOV so you're comfortable. Just like IRL if you can force yourself to look farther ahead you will find it gets much easier. Stick with it and you'll be hooked, that's for sure.
Good advise. Might as well learn how to ride 1st person cam and manual shifting now, so that you don't have to go back and re-learn how to play the game later. You can get an imitation x-box 360 controller for 20$ at game stop. It will be an investment well worth it. Given your situation of not being able to ride in real life anymore, I def think you think stick it out and keep playing this game.

dude buy it..i have been playing for only two months and i love it!i still totally suck but all the extra tracks you get with the full version gives you so many different chances to get know your bike...it is exactly what it's called...a simulator so it will be very simular to the real thing...just remember there is nothing wrong with crashing its only wrong when you don't get back up and keep trying:)

Im starting to get a hang of this game bit by bit. :) I mean, i cant clear all jumps all the time but the supercross track in the demo version, ive had a couple of laps where i have gotten 1.20 lap times etc, i guess it's pretty good since i cant play this game at all. :D The biggest issues still is whoops and going through corners, in the whoops i either go over the bars or just fly off from the track. In the corners i just cant get any speed without crashing so im pretty doing like 2mp/h in a corner. :?

practice makes perfect. i was the same way when i started. i sucked at whoops and took turns so slow. a tip for the whoops...make sure youre as straight as possible, in 1st gear, and are revving as hard as you can. over time you will learn when to let off a little, when you can upshift and keep it pinned, and even come into the whoops at an angle, or change lines in the whoops. just remember, gentle steering corrections! if the bike starts bucking lean back a little (but not too much).

as for turns, i find it helpful if you never coast in a turn. keeping the gas on will keep the bike more stable, keep the rear end from slowing you down (engine braking), and allow you to stay upright. i usually brake going into the turn, and start letting off the brakes as im leaning and as soon as im off the brakes im back on the gas. just keep practicing, youll get it!

I only can play on arcade physics which i dislike and i suck at riding while using them too. Well then i came here to check out my bike setups, entered 1 in but it got even worse. On sim physics, i cant even go a straight line without crashing. Is it just me who sucks or is there something really wrong with my setup or something. I really want to buy the full version but i just dont see the point since i cant even ride a full lap without crashing like 50 times.
If your using a controller make sure the analog sticks are not sticking. I had the same problem! Now I can go a full 2 laps without crashing

the point is that every one started out like that and the demo is only showing you the basics of what the game is and about the setups you will more than lightly need to find one that fits your riding style on the game or make up one your self and if you are wondering about how to add tracks or new up dates or any thing you will find it on here or on youtube hope this helped you make up your mind
