New thread ok. The game should automatically "restart" once everyone crosses the finish. Keep the request open so if not everyone is riding a restart can still be requested. If Chat included, then display only before/after race and make it hide itself during race. Assign a key to chat, so you can also display/hide chat during race if you want.
If someone wants to freeride then jlv should allow a time limit option like in single player so once servers are open to be created, they can do all the fun stuff without interfering with races. Also allow kicking/voting players out so goons cannot continue to reak havoc during a race.
Finally, pitboard doesnt need fast lap! You realize it already tells you the difference between next rider so if your not keeping pace the difference increases so its obvious.

Though it may not be necessary, I like to know if I am dropping from my own pace. Just because i didnt lose any time from the rider in front of me, doesnt mean i rode a faster lap. The rider in front could run a slow lap, and i would think im going fast. I say keep fast lap and last lap. What else do you want? I think we need a way to make it so everyones models and skins shows up without having to d/l all the skins from the forums...I don't like having to look through a whole bunch of garbage skins in game when trying to find which one I want to use. I've been thinking about this a lot and it would be cool if there was some way to make it so that before a race starts the game checks to see if you have all the models and skins and if not saves an encryped file into your personal folder that would contain the missing models and skins...then when the race ends the file would stay on your computer but you would not be able to open it or anything...this would stop people from using team gear when they arent on the team. Then when another race starts, if people are using skins or models that arent in your personal folder or encrypted file the game would add the skins and models that you are missing. Hope this makes sense.

I don't like that idea. Some people have quite slow internet, let alone their upload speed. I don't want to sit there waiting for someone's computer to upload a skin to the server, at probably 30kb/s (if that), then continue waiting for another computer to download it, at about 100kb/s (if that). Especially the skins being 2048x2048, thats like 2mb. And if they are in a .saf file, thats about 10mb...

Well you would only have to wait when people had new models/skins. We need some way to see all models and skins without having to search through the forums to find every single one. And personally I would like to not have to have other people's skins show up in the selection.

Someone should make a grand unified skin pack so it's easy to get them all at once.

True. I can do that. But problem is, you can't saf a saf, so I need all the raw images.

This whole thing has got me thinkin about something we were talking about long ago...Are we ever going to get subfolders? My personal folder looks terrible...I really think we need a tracks subfolder, a bikes subfolder, a gear subfolder, etc.

yep,skin DL kills online,imagine when you're racing and someone joins,everyone will lag like hell while DL is going on cos it'll take all the bandwidth,then someone leaves and another joins... that's a killer.DJ wrote:I don't like that idea. i'd like a pause before another race starts,just so you got time if you want to go tweak something in suspension set-up,if you could have say 90 secs pit time before the 30sec board guy begins to move that'd do it for me right now,but best of all an in game complete set-up save for bike and rider settings you can name,so you can load a complete new set-up for each track with just a mouse click.

That skin pack would be like 80 megs! haha. If people want to pm me their skins for the new bike and rider models I would be happy to compile them and make a skinpack out of it.
