That's not even close to true. I looked for guides and resources wherever I could while I was learning and it was effective. Would have been easier if there were a central location for all that info.

You all understand that you wouldn't be forced to read said guide, right? It would have no effect on you if you choose not to contribute or use it. I don't understand why you are trying to kill the idea before it even gets off the ground.

I was thinking something similar... The forums do have a lot of knowledge, it's just poorly organized.
I had an idea of starting a knowledge base for this sort of stuff.. so it's nice and organized.. More of a documentation kind of feel, but I dunno if anyone would even use it.

Justin, therein lies the problem: those who are capable of creating this resource have no use for it and stand to gain nothing, but the folks who need it are incapable of creating it.

If you decide to actually put something together let me know and I'll help. Maybe delegate sections to anyone who volunteers to lessen the work load.

Maybe something like this? Just kind of a proof of concept, but what I have there is fully functional. There can be as many sections/categories/articles added as needed, the ones there were just to test out the functionality. If needed I can even make it so articles can be submitted and approved by me and some moderators. It will all work, it's just a matter of me making sure it works the way I want it to.

Yeah that's awesome. I wasn't thinking of getting a website for it, was just going to put together one massive thread lol.

I made a topic long time ago about tuning guides. As friendly as this forum is, there was only half assed responses with nothing too helpful for a beginner. Dont you guys belive it would be fun if there was more fast people? More competition? Not to mention the fact that IF there was any real game guide, JLV could potentially get more sales.
Not just people who try the demo and quit within a day cause its so bloody difficult.

So please, be friendly, make a proper guide (mxsimpits guide was actually really good), help people get fast!

Thank you
This is what I posted back on simpits. Found it somewhere and put it in this topic. http://forum.mxsimulator.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=28261

Funny this is brought up, I pm'd jlv a few days ago asking for a "Tutorials and Information" section of the forum (I wanted to a big write up of a collection of tutorials kinda how you described) as it seems not many read the top of the pages in track editing nor models and skins editing, the only thing I got back is how it would differ from "Help and Troubleshooting" and "general discussion", and then no answer to my returning pm. I agree, poor organization leads to many of the problems we have on the forums but so does ignorance and maturity of some the members.

Which is why Ramon and I are making the "Modders Resource Guide" books you can find the topic in model and skins editing forum, but yet something so useful will get buried under useless topics (as it already has) without being stickied and will never probably be seen until we update it again.

This is not entirely true, helping people who are willing to learn and actually work at it is actually a pretty good feeling imo.
