Re: Do you all just want to play with a gamepad ???
I hope I don't get flamed for this, and I hope this doesn't stop you from making this great product, but I will still be using a game pad. I know this is a sim, but it feels enough like riding to me with the game pad, if I really want to ride, I will go riding in real life. If I bought this thing, it would probably sit 90% of the time I played the game. Maybe my opinion will change when I see it, and maybe i'm just not used to bike controls like I would be steering wheel (all though I can not race cars in real life so thats a different story for me).
I also have a hard time buying this, because even though it'd be more expensive, I am a MechEng. major and I can learn things REALLY quick when I want to, so for me, I am positive I could make myself something custom to my own liking if I really wanted it.
As far as feedback goes, the headstock looks a bit awkward, like the handle bars should be directly over the shaft although it would mroe than likely feel awkward when turned, so I'll take your word it feels right in this position. It looks pretty good other than that...
A way to regulate (based on if you are on ground, in air, type of terrain) how hard it is to turn the bars would be a SWEET addition. I think it would be more expensive, but I think you would catch more people's eye...

Hi Sween, I fully understand m8. It is quite hard going from years of having to use a gamepad to using such a system, so I agree with you on that fact. The pics you have seen are for the Superbike version an I am just developing the adaptable unit for both SB and MX where the MX axis is in the middle of the bars as on the real bike and pivots more on the horizontal axis as apposed to the SB version. Pics coming soon.

What will the warranty or support be on this thing. Im skecthed about paying 300 bills for a product, that I cant get parts for in case it breaks or things like that. I see that your on here quiet a bit though so idk. Maybe once you get it dialed you can put up an indepth review and viewing of the product playing mxs , then we will have a better understanding of this new product. Show us everything about it like how each button works, setup of the hardware. Think like you have never seen it, like you didnt build it, what would you like to know about it? Then make that video, I think that will clear up alot of the questions we have and allow us to come up with new comments, concerns and questions.
Can you completely disassemble the hardware, for storage?
what is the weight of it and what it the maxium weight it can support? 250lbs person?(because i thought i read it will have a seat.)
Will have to hook it up to an electtical outlet or will the power be drawn from the comp?
I think we all just want to see you playing MXS with it.

Hi Red, I really liked your input dude. OK lets start with the basics. Its dang heavy for a control system, its all heavy metal for now, I cant weld Ali on the dinning room table lol. Seriously, I only have so many tools right now, I intend to lighten it one heck of a lot, but that costs money to start with, so swings and roundabouts on that. It will take ANY weight you put on it, I build custom Harleys for a living, just no work now lol. Some big guys out there, I know. Well point is, I build it for everyone, POINT. OK point number 2, COST.........
If you buy a car wheel system, mass produced that any idiot could build, yep 300 bills is normal, my system has never been produced, it has 4 more axis than most wheel units, is with REAL handlebars, throttle, clutch and brake levers (they wont break) is fully adjustable, is TRUELY realistic and it FRIKKIN works better than ANYthing on the market in the WHOLE world!!!. Guarantee? I bet my life on it and so does my girlfriend that has supported me in this, I Guarantee most of it for life, its tough! I wont Guarantee cables and paint, potentiometers wear out but when I can Im going fully optical. Brakes are pots now but I can do load cell too. If you think 300 is a lot for this, then concider it costs me nearly 200 in parts and a heck of a lot of work!!! I wish I was rich and could give them away, but life is life. I have at least tried to do something most people only dream about. This is for all of you, not me, Im a simple biker, doing my bit.

Re: Do you all just want to play with a gamepad ???
As I said before, I'd be willing to spend 300$ on taking the realism of this game to the next level. I am a little concerned with shipping costs however.
This is very future-thinking, as I know you don't have a multimillion dollar factory, but the ultimate level of this will probably be when the player and 'motorcycle' are suspended in the air and in a gyroscope. Only then will the feelings of weightlessness, leaning, whipping, flipping, and crashing be really simulated. Until then, I think adding force-feedback would convince a lot of people to buy your product who otherwise wouldn't. Some of us have gotten so good using an gamepad that it would hurt their pride to basically start over. It would make no sense to use reversed steering with your product, so everything would be opposite of what we're used to. But keep it up and dream big, because a lot of the world's most wealthy people started out building things out of steel that many thought was useless. (ie Henry Ford)
If you just want to know that there's enough interest out there to justify the work and risk you're taking, I think there is.

Axle, I thank you for the words. I was born to ride a bike, I was also born to give the feeling to a sim that no other can!!!

Price depends on the system as there will be different versions. It will be at least US $300 as these are not cheap to build. Price depends on how much interest I get and orders. The more the cheaper really. I can only do my best. I takes a minimum of 20 hours to build one.

Re: Do you all just want to play with a gamepad ???
i have always wondered why there were no real good bike controllers, only those plastic thing you can clamp onto a desk which are crap to be honest.
looking at the process it takes to make a good controller, I can see why the big corporations don't take the risk to develop something like this for commercial use. they just stick to the easy-to-make wheels for car racing games/sims.
It leaves a big hole in the "controller market" though, so it's good to see someone step in and actually make a good effort at creating something durable and as close to the real thing as possible.
and with some advertising around the various forums around the internet(which you are obviously doing) i'm sure a whole lot of people will be interested.
300$ would be really cheap for a decently built controller like this to be honest, look at some of the wheels on the market, for a half decent one you pay at least 300$ if not more. and that is for a steering wheel and some foot peddles mostly made out of plastic.
if this works as well as you say it works I'll buy one for sure, some time in the future when my budget allows it
.
post a video once the MX modifications are done, so we can see the end result and how it works in game.
BTW. what kind of analog stick are you going to use on the handle bars? are they anything like the xbox360/ps3 ones?
anyway, keep up the good work.
and don't worry about the amount of people replying. I think most of them are waiting for a demonstration with MXS, because I think some of them are a little skeptical when it comes to controllers for MX games. seeing as in the past things like these have failed, but the amount of effort you put into it and consulting with the community shows promise.

Hi Servatis, thanks for the comments. The joysticks for rider control are exactly like those on XBOX360 and PS3 gamepads with a center press button.

I use dragbars, so if you want renthals you would have to pay the extra cost of the bars thats all.
