Re: Mx Sim on big TVs
its okay to do it, it wont hurt your tv that much. but the thing is that the refresh rate is half the rate from a computer monitor. so for mx and racing games its ok to do and to have fun with friends watching you etc, but if you go into a fps game youll notice theres a delay thats hard to tell but if you notice theres a lag spike. I run a hdmi cable to my gfx card - nvidia 260x. Then i run a optical cable for sound outta my motherboard into my home theater because i have a mobo that already had it built it, which most do nowadays. you can buy a auxuilary audio cable and plug it into your headphone jack and then into your tv, but make sure you have the audio in the RIGHT hmdi ports. also you can use S video if you dont have hdmi in ur video card.

Not necessarily, when I had to buy a new a screen there were already HDTVs on the sale with a 120 Hz refresh rate, that should be enough for most games. I would've bought one if the price hadn't been so exorbitantly high compared to 60 Hz HDTV, didn't really care to spend more than double my budget.mxer323 wrote:but the thing is that the refresh rate is half the rate from a computer monitor.
Oh and about the image burning to the screen issue, well, I've used my tv as a pc screen right from the start and haven't had any problems yet. I'd say the new screens are pretty safe in that regard.

Re: Mx Sim on big TVs
well crap. i havent been getting my computer to hook up to the tv successfully lately. i was playing around with it and got it to work again. i had my computer connected to the tv using a VGA cable. i got it connected and had it working on the tv but the only way i got it to work was by having the tv the only monitor going. (so as soon as i plug the vga cable into my computer its makes my copmuter screen go black.) that worked for a while until i unplugged it. tried plugging it in again and now the tv goes blank and my computer goes blank. i cant figure out how to get back to the menu that allowed me to make the setting to where it only displayed on the tv. (im pretty surethat the only time that screen pops up is when the cord is plugged in. aka im hosed because i cant see a thing when i plug the cord in now. any ideas on how to get back to that screen or how i can make my computer forget that that is what i selected? lol
sry for the jumbled up post. i cant figured out how to expalin and im getting pissed lol.
