Scrap that, I got it to work sort of....YAY!cpt_Slow wrote:Can these animations be used on bike and rider models? I'm assuming not at the moment (I did try) but it would work well for a rippling shirt and maybe a basic mud build up.

When I say sort of it really is sort of. It seems to be very laggy and my test was just Luiz's shading template (thanks) converted to a normal map and moved around a bit. To make a good rippling shirt animation would take a lot of time and skill, so I wouldn't hold your breath for it coming from me. Sorry.

This is the first snapshot where it is consistently closing the game on me. MXSIM as encountered an error and needs to be closed.

Could you post the details of the crash?

Re: 2009-11-11 snapshot
For animation files, you should really make it lower resolution. You should aim not to make the resolution of a static normal map larger than the colour maps size (in mosty cases), so usually 1024x1024. For animation, 4 slides of 512x512 will use the same memory, 16 slides of 256x256 will use the same memory againcpt_Slow wrote:When I say sort of it really is sort of. Re: 2009-11-11 snapshot
The animations stay in system memory and the frames are uploaded to the video card whenever the frame changes. So bandwidth is just as much of an issue as memory usage. 1024x1024 will use way too much video bus bandwidth. I'd try to stay at or under 256x256.

i run the exe , where suppose i se the logs to read it or send it to u, i ride a track in time trial , or u need some online race to check . tell me how continue. thx btw 4 the supportjlv wrote:If it says not detected next to "Use Shader Programs" it will definitely not work.Ashes wrote:If it says (not detected) in red in the menu next to "frame buffer objects" and "enable mapping" does that mean normal mapping won't work on my machine?
Cause for the life of me, I cannot get it (normal mapping) to work!Could you test this: http://mxsimulator.com/snapshots/mx-r811.exematias wrote:jlv , continues happening the same , its worst directly i miss frames ,the performance slow down and miss frames
It isn't a fix for the problem but it will help me narrow down what change started the slowdown.
Re: 2009-11-11 snapshot
Does it have the same slowdown?

Re: 2009-11-11 snapshot
It is doing one of two things. It just closes the game and comes up with the error message and asks if I want to send notice to Microsoft, or it just closes and says that I ran out of virtual memory. Now I am running a AMD Athlon Dual core 7750 overclocked 11% with 4GB of ram. I should NEVER run out of memory. Sorry if that is not detailed enough, but I am no expert when it comes to computer stuff.jlv wrote:Could you post the details of the crash?
Re: 2009-11-11 snapshot
I don't understand why the game uses disk memory. The game uses less than 500mb of RAM on my computer
Re: 2009-11-11 snapshot
Look in the control panel under "Problem reports and solutions". Select "Problem history". Right click on mx.exe and choose "View details".chris465 wrote:It is doing one of two things. The most useful info is the faulting module and the exception offset.
Overclocking can cause crashes. Running your CPU at its rated speed would be the first thing I'd try to fix it. Also, if you're running an ATI card the most recent drivers have some bad memory leaks.

Re: 2009-11-11 snapshot
I rolled back my drivers on my Video Card and it has not given me the memory error since. The game is still crashing though. I looked for the problems section under control panel and could not find them. Sorry for my ignorance.
