When I get home later on I'll for sure try that out, I've ran this setup since 2014 and haven't really done much too it since then so it's probably about time I start messing with it a lot more.motokid499 wrote:Your roll limit angle is really low dude. Your roll damping is already at 60 lmaoConnerPeavy wrote:Here's my current advanced im running which ive actually been running since ive got the game just tweaked since ive gotten faster, im not happy with how it is to be honest but someone might find a use for it, im still editing it every now and then on different tracks.

max steering force: 820 to 850
Sweet man! This stability saves my ass all the time...its tight enough to help stay up, and I have seen it throw down some whips, from other riders that run a similar stability. I also tried 850, feels good..I also changed the "Restricted Lock Angle" to 6.50..that I got from yours!

Re: YOUR SETUP
Really struggled with setup for Oakland and am again at a bit of a loss as to what tweaks would help with me this week's track. Anyone care to give tips on what you have changed from the first couple of rounds to adapt to Phoenix? I'm on a 450, but I would think any general guides as to suspension/gearing/rider spring & damping settings to look at, regardless of bike, would apply.

you really shouldnt be changing advanced from round to round, just find something you like and stick with it, adapt your riding to the track not your advanced

Yup ^^ I've used the same one for over a year now, I can always predict how the bike is going to react. That I still fall, that one's on me.

100 leveling is ridiculous. Drop it to 25-30.

Re: YOUR SETUP
I mostly rode BMX growing up but I'm also an avid mtb rider. Love the dirt jump and downhill parks in boulder co. I've rode a dirt bike a few times and yes, they've always come back to vertical completely on their own for me. And it was a 95 model 250cc 4 stroke honda that I rode. Along with briefly a 50cc 2 stroke pit bike and a 125cc 4 stroke mini bike. Not my bikes so unsure of any other specs on them. I use steering to keep the bike upright while moving. You in no way shape or form have to actually pull the bike up to vertical coming out of the turn. Infact I'd say it's more prone to high siding than it is tipping over like that 20-30% range yall run for some crazed reason I'll never understand.onefoureight wrote:Holy santa clause shit, what kind of bikes you ride in real life!?!? Maybe I just adopted a different riding style growing up.

Who said anything about pulling the bike towards vertical, and your bike should never be vertical in a corner lmfao, riding with that setup must be like steering a battleship around the track.

Re: YOUR SETUP
Whenever I try (And fail) to ride a setup with 20-30% leveling I end up having to turn the opposite direction of the turn the entire latter half of the turn to come out of it. That's not right at all... You stop turning and the bike goes straight and to do so must be level. It does this quite quickly also. I've been thrown from how quick it happens sometimes. That's how you end up "swapping" back and forth. In real life you have to keep turning into the turn untill your out of the turn and you never turn the opposite direction unless you get crossed up as hell and then your still leaning the into the turn (or you'll high side hard) your just countersteering because really the front wheel should never be going any direction but the direction the bike is going based on the angle of trajectory/inertia/momentum/lean. And because the game doesnt have seperate steering and lean this is why you cant lock the back brake and drift into a turn like you can in real life. The game cant separate the actions and he either lays it down or high sides. And as for being level around turns I assure you it is not. Try it you'll see that you can over lean and lay it down real easy.FlyinHigh wrote:Who said anything about pulling the bike towards vertical, and your bike should never be vertical in a corner lmfao, riding with that setup must be like steering a battleship around the track.
At 100% leveling and 0 roll limit it feels right. The direction I'm pushing the stick matches the way I expect to be steering the bike. I expect the rider on the bike (since their is no seperate control) to ride the bike properly to make it go the direction I'm steering. If I let go of the stick it should level off and go straight, not just keep leaning/turning harder and harder untill it finally washes the front wheel and crashes.... That's just retarded LMFAO.
Infact every behavior of my advanced stability setup behaves properly and gives the same problems in the same exact manner and reason that I have experienced them and would expect them in real life. Sometimes at a near stand still some wierd shit happens but it's hard to keep a bike balanced at that speed IRL too so I just imagine that the ingame rider is struggling to keep the bike level or at the exact angle I'm trying to turn at.
Maybe we have a difference in understanding on what the stick is actually doing. Because to me that's just giving the rider directions on how to ride the bike. No touch means be centered and ride straight. Left means turn(which requires leaning) left, forward means put the weight on the front wheel. Far as I can tell that's exactly what happens in game too... But that's the way I have my stability physics setup... I just wish the mofo would learn to countersteer into a slide while I'm leaning into the turn so he'd stop freaking high siding everytime.
It's really all just preference settings. Though honestly if I were to make a game out of this one I would lock the physics to the way I set them so nobody could cheat by running super unrealistic roll dampening settings.
Their is still ALOT wrong with this physics engine from what I can tell also. Inertia's go crazy hahahahaahahahaha. You can front flip all the things if your good enough LMAO. You can bounce flip/spin do crazy shit at basically any time. Using those typical stability setups just makes it that much more not right.
Plus, we REALLY need seperate controls of steering and lean. Or at the very least for steering to be automatically controlled based on lean and trajectory/inertia/momentum etc. A simple gyro controlled steering system would work perfectly but I dont see how I could impliment that. So what I've got is the best I can do to make the game as realistic as possible.

I use a Full sim setup for cars that turns 900* with full effects and h gated shifter and clutch pedal... Why doesnt anything like this exist for MX Simulators?? I wont run a manual full sim setup till I have it.. Controllers suck

Re: YOUR SETUP
Plus... The games physics are broken like I said so it's hard enough dealing with that. I dont need to add broken physics into the equation everytime I lock the back wheel. Especially since their's no way to set up a controller realistically with manual shifting, clutch, and seperated brakes and it still work properly. Your rear brake will always be digital if you do. Nothing realistic about an on off switch to control the brakes. Especially when doing so = instant crash due to a physics flaw.
