I can definitely pull faster laps on some tracks riding the 250F. On the outdoors tracks there isn't really an added advantage, Red Bud is a good example. The only added benefit is Larocco's Leap, but even then I can do it on a 250F occasionally. In SX they help sometimes, again, depends on the track, some of them I can't get any better lines. Some of them I end up doing sextuple jumps in sections. I don't know how I feel about them to be honest, they feel pretty overpowered.

Is this really how a 450F runs at sea level? I don't get why some pro riders say they have a hard time getting over something. They must suck.

It depends of the track actualy.. I've a track in progress and it rides pretty good with both bikes, like you're not overjumping everthing and making jumps easy. It just use different lines and riding style.
JLV , great job... Its better than I thought it could be

JLV modeled the engines off of the real 2011 power curves provided by MotoUSA.Lucas.715 wrote:No words, just playied a little yesterday, and talking about the diference of the each bike with assunção, i love the diferences, each bike with each feature ..
Jlv, can you post something like a graphic of the diferences? like Handling, power, etc.... the parameters that you worked on?
Thanks a lot Jlv!

The weight of each 450 is that of a CRF450, so they all weigh the same.

Re: 2011-11-17 snapshot
So i had a bunch of seat time last night on these bad boys, and i will say that these are just like i expected.
Tracks do not have to be tailored to a 450 because of MXS's traction system. Hammer down a 450 WFO from a stop, and the back tire will just spin and spin and spin until you get traction. I noticed that you can get more traction by launching the 450 in 2nd gear just below its peak torque. One thing that may have to come in to play is perhaps limiting the 450's top speed by adding drag to the tilemap at high speeds. Really, the 250f is just as fast accelerating. Where the 450 shines is when it's able to stretch its legs as it just pulls and pulls and pulls, where the 250 signs off early.
I'm a bit surprised at how well the 450f's track bumps and whoops. They seem a lot more stable than the 250f's. I guess that is attributed to the added weight of the bike and the rider. I definitely can notice the extra weight when handling the bike in the air and such.
JLV, any chance you can implement a numbers-450.png, numbers-250.png, numbers-rider.png system so that we can run white numbers for 250f's and black numbers for 450's, and whatever numbers for the jerseys?

sorry, noob question, i put it in the mxsimulator file, but must i delete other file?? what must we do to hear this sound? thanks for the help.DJ99X wrote:Here, give this a go. Its the same SAF as the one at the beginning of the post, only with the bottom end sounds changed to the 250F nameDJ99X wrote:I just duplicated the saf and renamed everything with default450f to default250f. The bottom end sounds so sick. But the top end goodness is gone. I reckon a combination of the 450 bottom and 250f top would be ridiculous.Ashes wrote: BTW - the sound is incredible!
Any chance we can get similar samples for the 250f's?

Or better yet. A number system similar to the skins. And if you don't have someones numbers, it wil default to the stock numbers or something.ShackAttack12 wrote:JLV, any chance you can implement a numbers-450.png, numbers-250.png, numbers-rider.png system so that we can run white numbers for 250f's and black numbers for 450's, and whatever numbers for the jerseys?
I think we should have a 450 default and 250 default, but then have different numbers that can be seen (as long as you have the number skin), so that everyone can use the numbers of their preference

Is it possible to use customs skins / team bikes in the 450class? if we can, what do we have to save them as?

There's soo much power in these beasts... Yet something is missing for me, could be personal preference but I'd like to have more braking power.
In supercross after nailing a whoop section, I want to stop fast enough to make the turn but I'm just not able to do it:p
