Still the sled weighs 500 pounds and it'd be a lot harder to control that in the air than a motocross bike. That's the whole reason he crashed last year.

Actually the reason of the crash was carb problems, so he sled cut out in the air and locked up. Sending him end over endborderpatrol199 wrote:Still the sled weighs 500 pounds and it'd be a lot harder to control that in the air than a motocross bike. That's the whole reason he crashed last year.

Re: New Years No Limits
Actually they tend to weigh 350-400 lbs because their torn down. I suspected about 400 but a quick google says there have been a few sleds at 350 but it depends on the brand. So lavelle's was probably lets say 390 if he was riding his freestyle sled. Sleds are suprisingly stable in the air as well and easier than tyou'd expect to jump.borderpatrol199 wrote:Still the sled weighs 500 pounds and it'd be a lot harder to control that in the air than a motocross bike. I think it'd be a little different if you were jumping 400ft at a 100mph. Think about the wind resistance on the front of that sled and it's bigger than that bike so it's probably easier to get blown around. That's why they had to make a special nose cone.shawn1331 wrote:Sleds are suprisingly stable in the air as well and easier than tyou'd expect to jump.

that much weight going so fast would be more stable than a dirtbike doing the same, watch maddo's bike move in the shot from the front, and levi's sled stayed relativly in line.borderpatrol199 wrote:I think it'd be a little different if you were jumping 400ft at a 100mph. There has been a delay.....School. I am a junior so i get some more time off here soon or something but The map is pushed back to a later date. I am sorry for the inconvenience. I hope to have it out before it is forgotten but i am running out of time.
