Okay your brother knows someone who can. Unless your relationship with your brother is as healthy as mine is with my sister (we haven't talked in 2 years) then he can probably hook you up. And yes, they sell hard drives for laptops so im assuming you can replace them. I would put money on google knowing the answer

Most newer laptops enable the replacement of your hdd...all it takes is a simple google search. I can never understand why people use this site and post questions about things that could be answered by typing 5 words into google...

Back on topic, I actually replaced a hdd in my moms Dell laptop a few months ago. Hdd was like 40$ and it took about 45 minutes. Google google google I cannot stress that enough

Can this handle MXS?

When I say handle, I don't need to have the sharpest p2sta style screenshots or run high settings with everyone's models with 40 people. I'm talking about being able to just handle the game in general without serious lag. At this point my computer is lagging so hard and crashing so much it's not an option. Like 99% of you have said, "Keeping my laptop and buying a tower" is the most logical solution, but what if I really have no interest in this game a year from now? I want something like I have now, minus the crashing and keyboard problems lol. Everything about the laptop above looks legit for what I am looking for. I just don't know if the processor speed can handle it.

Any laptop over $500 bucks can easily run mxs. Shit its not rocket science.

Pretty sure JLV has a "required specs" on the homepage, take those and compare them. If you dont understand what something is, just like brutal said, its called google.

Requires 2 GHz CPU with 1 GB RAM and 3D graphics accelerator with full OpenGL 1.1 support. Works on either Windows (XP or newer) or Linux.
Doh

Well here's my Current laptop vs HP laptop with the specs (Current left, HP right)
CPU: i7 vs i5
Memory: 4GB vs 8GB
Hard Disk: 500GB vs 750GB
Graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 6570M vs Intel HP Graphics 4000
Video Memory: 1GB vs 1696 MB
Processor speed: 2.00 GHz vs 2.5 GHz
Memory Type: 204-PIN DDR3 SO-DIMM vs DDR3 SDRAM

Okay, it is def. not you're hardware that is causing the lagging. There is nothing wrong with the laptop you have. You need to reformat and clean the dust like JLV said. Also download Realtemp and check those CPU & GPU temps if possible. It may just be that you need to change the thermal compound or something

Idk, it could be multiple things. Is it still under warranty? If I'm correct, I think you would be down grading if you purchased that other laptop. i7 vs i5? Dedicated GPU vs Onboard? Do you really need 16GB of RAM? And you can always add another HDD for way cheaper then buying a whole new laptop. When you get the BSODs it means you're probably overheating. I would recommend that you download a hardware temp monitor software. Then clean the computer out free of dust. Then if that doesn't work, then reformat. If that doesn't work something could possibly be dying. In which you would want to take advantage of your warranty if still active.

Alright look I'll say it, "stuff" ruined my computer and it crashed realllly bad. My cousin saved it but not my files, I know bad files are still deep in the hard drive somewhere that's causing it to Blue screen and crash. I just think it's finally to a point of no return.

Right now I'm fine using stock models with low settings and running 60 FPS during RF races. I just want one single computer for everything I need.

Well all I can say it the laptop you have should be enough. If your getting blue screens from a past virus or rootkit, I would wipe the drive first then install the OS. I don't think you need a new laptop.

My brother wants to buy this laptop, and it's the whole "Starting fresh" thing you know. Dude I don't know, my brother keeps bugging me to buy my laptop and with the money I might as well. He really wants to start racing MX Simulator.
