Re: 2009-08-08 snapshot
Ok I have to agree with what someone said a few pages back, this snapshot lags when the roost hits the camera.
And no i don't need a new computer, i have the Dell XPS M1730 so if something lags for me then it must be really bad for a lot of people. (dual Nvidia GeForce 8700 GT's)

Re: 2009-08-08 snapshot
When the roost hits the camera it will use more fill rate since it's overdrawing the whole screen a few times. A modern GPU should handle that easily though. If you're using a supersampling antialiasing mode you might try disabling it since it will use much more fill rate.
How many fps do you get when you pause a demo and fly the camera through the roost vs. when you stay away from the roost?

So the lag doesn't happen when you fly the camera through the roost in a demo? Is it at all repeatable?

Re: 2009-08-08 snapshot
Hey JLV,
I might be a little behind the times here, but i remember trying to ride with erode on one day and the game did not update the shadows while i was racing. This caused there to be a bunch of ruts that you cant see, and was basically impossible to ride. Has anything been done to fix this? Again, i havent tried in a while.

Just put 0 instead of 25 if you want none
jlv wrote:Try --roostfrequency 25 if you're getting low FPS. It defaults to the maximum 1000 now, which might be too much for integrated GPUs.
