Re: MXS Hotlap and racereport website
Is there a way to have MXS create/write the results.txt file as people are finishing, instead of waiting until everybody is finished? There are many times when the results.txt file won't be created because one person in dead last 10th place decided just to screw around and not finish the race. It seems that the file is only created when the last person crosses the finish line, and the game displays the total time of the race and the penalties. This would leave out very many races getting included in the stats, since a lot of times people vote to restart before everybody has a chance to finish.

The penalties are based on the average time by all riders through the section that was cut, so you can't do the penalties until the race is over. The way around that is to just end the race and send the results when a restart happens.

Re: MXS Hotlap and racereport website
- Recent activities panel now has links to the complete report of the race the event took place in. I cleared up the history table for this.
- Races with 1 driver aren't counted as a race, podium finish or win
- Send an email to JLV to request that laps with cuts don't count as best-laptime in the result files
- Links to reports of past races under 'Driver statistics'
- Back2Back (select 2 drivers and see a back2back comparison of PB's)
- Usage of a new graphics lib for the graphs. This is on low priority since the graphcics do their work at the moment.
Updates are currently coming slow because the weather outside is to good

Re: MXS Hotlap and racereport website
Hi guys,
Did a big update today.
JLV proposed a new format for the result files to me and I modified the website to accept these new types of result files. The 'upload report' feature is removed from the website. Soon the game will auto upload the result files to the website so all online driven races will be kept in the website.
The biggest changes are :
Other updates like 'Back2Back' and the new graph library are probably for when the summer is over
If you guys have any ideas on features just post them here.
Frank

The biggest changes are :
- Every game/driver has now an Unique-ID. This ID is now used to identify drivers. In the previous version I used the numberplate due to the lack of a really unique thing. The problem was that your stats got screwed when someone else was using the same numberplate as yourself.
- Following the previous point no more numberplate registration. When you drive online you will automicly be added to the website.
- No more uploading. The game (server) will auto upload the result files when the race finishes. This feature is not yet in the game but will come very soon. I will give a yell here when this has happened.
- Fastests laps with skipped gates are not any more regarded as a fastest lap
Other updates like 'Back2Back' and the new graph library are probably for when the summer is over

Will the auto-upload be used for private servers too? I mean the servers the people create themselves, not the 3 that jlv has now.

I do think this will be the case yes.yzmxer608 wrote:Will the auto-upload be used for private servers too? I mean the servers the people create themselves, not the 3 that jlv has now.
JLV will have to give the definitive answer on this but I do think so.

That's what --results-file and --results-cmd is in the server for. I'll write some scripts to do the upload and post them soon.

Re: MXS Hotlap and racereport website
Just checked it myself and all seems to be working OK.
If I understand correctly you have to add a parameter to your server program if you want your server to upload the results.
Since it is summer computer time is way down and I will wait to do updates after the summer.
If you see bugs/problems post them here or trigger me at frank.wynants@gmail.com. These will be fixed as soon as possible.
If you have any good ideas for the website let them know here.
What will come after the summer:
And finally I want to thank JLV for adding the 'auto upload to website' feature to the server program !

What will come after the summer:
- Back2Back : Select two drivers and the website will show a comparison of the times of these drivers
- New graphs : Current graph library isn't as good as I want it to be and will be replaced with another. The new library is ready so that will not be that much work to do.
And finally I want to thank JLV for adding the 'auto upload to website' feature to the server program !
