Re: why i'm leaving and why i'm so pissed
forum breakdown:
5% huge egos
80% complete morons that do nothing but piss people off
10% great people that help out and contribute
5% freeloaders like myself that try to stay out of the problems and enjoy all of the cool things people make.
when u think about it.....its crazy that there is still a lot of quality stuff released.

Great way of explaining what is going on JLV. The best comparison in this topic so far if you ask me.jlv wrote:No, it's more like a very generous person giving away free cars with one condition, that the recipients thank him and be respectful to him. Re: why i'm leaving and why i'm so pissed
This may sound dumb but this is my take. People should start selling there work, if there was a safer way that made sure stuff wouldnt get around this would work. A good example is MessiaH's CRF. I would pay $20 for the bike and the skins, and so on for gear. It would make people more motivated to put out good gear so they could make money.
Im sure i will get flamed like "who the f**k would buy gear for a game?" me and im sure many other people that play this game. What about the millions of people that pay hundreds a year on DLC for xbox or other things. Its pocket change. And playing this game with nice gear and bikes makes it more visually fun to play.

Re: why i'm leaving and why i'm so pissed
Hmm I would pay for skins...
I'd pay a hundred bucks for a vet trackmaker to make my old backyard track that exists only in my imagination and thankfully on Google Earth still.
To get back on point, too many people I think don't leave appreciative comments on people's work because they don't want to come as as as an a$$ kisser.
Well I'm going to kiss the ass right now of every creator in this game. Without the efforts of Gio, DDmx, and many others this game wouldn't be the best game in the world, being challenged only by modern warfare 2.

I would pay in all honesty.
The problem with getting respect online is that its ONLINE. Therefore the person will never see or hear you so they have nothing to worry about.

The issue at hand has nothing to do with being rewarded monetarily for a creator's time.
The issue at hand is the intellectual property of the creation.
Gio would be happy to release his creations to this community, IF this community would respect his wishes of not borrowing his work and/or not distributing demo's he wants to be kept privately (excuse me for speaking for someone else, but I think I actually comprehend the situation).

Re: why i'm leaving and why i'm so pissed
Been out of town this weekend, and then I see that one of my favorite creator on this game leave :\
Is it just me or is does the community get worse and worse for each day? Like when we first get especially talented guys that actually make good products for this game that actually sell. Then some people abuse it by ripping it, dealing it out to random guys that doesn't have permission to use it like the episode with that kx Luiz made a while ago.
I'm just wondering how the game would look like if Gio, DJ, DDMX and Luiz wasn't here, like how the game would look like.
Like Dj which were one of first guy that made custom skins and tracks for this game (correct me if I'm wrong) And still is that guy that makes the best looking track out here. And he made all the new yamaha models. DDMX is like the same as DJ, but made the crf, rmz, kxf and the KTM models with Gio, and for sure the rider model. And without these guys, then we would be using the old original bike and rider models which doesn't look that good. And Luiz just make perfect models IMO!
I don't think that most us would be playing this game like this if it wasn't for their work which they actually use their spare time on, just to satify our lazy asses
I would actually pay for some work for this game like Tyler mentioned. But more like a donate thing.
PS. you might find a lot of bad grammar on this text

Re: why i'm leaving and why i'm so pissed
totally agree 02rr02, if it was for stock game (no offense JLV cause your physics and all the basics are awesome on this, game, sx2010 season, update all the time...) but i think if kept like stock without being able to customise everything like we want or by what we have in life, it would not the same and we would lost interest quicker (i m not even sure cause the physics of jlv are absolutely awesome)! but now being able to play with the bike i ride in real, the gear... or the bike i dream... on track i dream... it s the best!!! the combination between of course jlv, and then ddmx, dj, gio, messiah.. make this game awesome!!
about paying for something, first i don t know if it could be allow, but yeah i ll give something to get a nice CRF 2010!! hahaha!! and of course the one of messiah since i hear so much of it! but duckstream and tim ferry , showtime are doing some really good work too it look like!

Re: why i'm leaving and why i'm so pissed
I just joined and loved all of gio's skins and I understand about him leaving for the ripping. But like what was said before I got this game for two reasons, 1 being that the bike just feels so real and 2 that all these awsome creators just create for the fun of creating. Why steal something thats free? It like going to a free food line, taking two bowls of soup then selling them on the corner for 5 bucks each. Thanks for the great skins and hope to see you back, but this community isnt dead, there are a lot of great creators here and hope they dont follow gio. EVERYONE JUST HAVE SOME RESPECT!!
