What spec to run MXS?

Hey guys,
After looking watching loads of videos on MXS, I really want to get it.. Due to there not being much in the line of MX games for my Xbox/PS3 til FIM in Feb.
The thing is, I haven't got a Windows run laptop or desktop, And my mac is a few years old and can just about play youtube videos... lol
So I might just buy a desktop pc and run it through my 50" tv same as the Xbox and PS3.
But what sort of spec do i need to run the game well with all functions without any problems?
And how hard is it to setup/modify as i'm not all that good when it comes to modding and indepth functions with computers.
Sorry for the noob questions, I just couldn't find any proper answers in search.

First, you should figure out how much money you're willing to spend. Then price out the PC accordingly. If you don't want to build the PC yourself you will be paying more for pre-built stuff.
Just like everything, it all comes down to how much money you want to spend. Make sure to do research on every part you buy, watch reviews, read reviews, and decide if its the right part for you.

Not really, no. I would recommend at least 6gb of ram, Intel i5 or i7 processor, 1Gb GPU. Especially if you planning on racing online at the bigger events.

Won't be getting Mx Simulator then, As i'm not £670 for a games console.

You might do better getting a Core i3 or i5 system with no graphics card and then adding a $100 graphics card later. That wouldn't be a killer system but it would be passable. Just make sure the system has a working PCIe x16 slot and a good enough power supply for the card you want.
You shouldn't need a killer system, it just can't have any weak links. The game will be limited by the speed of the slowest component.

Unless you're running 64-bit software, the max you can use is 3.25 GB. You'd be better off getting 4 GB of faster RAM.

Actually, a 32 bit program could use more than 4G if it used the OS's memory mapping calls to swap pages around. As an example, you could put your raw textures in the filesystem instead of your program's address space, and then map each file into your address space as you need it and unmap it again when you're done with it. A decent OS will cache the pages and never access the disk or copy any memory around. The only extra overhead would be updated the page tables, one for every 4k of memory in the worst case.
MX Simulator doesn't do that though. I don't think any OpenGL drivers do that either.

ill vouche for that im not even running a i3, just a overclocked 2.8 dual core at 3.4 with a strong video card and memory. If you can buy a prebuilt/ build kit from newegg. a good base is around 500$ give or take. I know you can build a great system for 700 with discounts/specials if you do it right there. I just got done pricing stuff 2 weeks ago.

So it needs to be i3 core with a half decent graphics card?
I'm trying to make it at simple as possible so when i go around all the shops at the weekend i'll just be able remember what i need rather then guessing between all the stuff i don't understand haha!
And just to clarify, If i do get a desktop, It will be brand new from the shop with a warranty.
I'm from the UK too, (weather it matters)

Build your own. Its cheaper, and much, much better.
