Linux help!

Post by astone977 »

Well, I got a new computer and am running Ubuntu 11.10 Linux on it and cannot figure out how to do anything. I have another computer running windows 7 and can get tracks and all that just fine. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me to install tracks and gear(personal folder), and how change the location of my mxsim shortcut like adding --editor. I have been trying for days to figure this out. (p.s. I have used the search button already). Any help would be great!
Thanks,

The personal folder is ~/.mxsimulator on Linux. That's /home/<your account>/.mxsimulator if whatever you're using doesn't expand ~ characters.

I always run if from a terminal window and put the command line options there, but you can add command line options in shortcuts/launchers too.

Do this in a terminal. Replace "/wherever/you/installed/mxsimulator/" with the correct path.

cd /wherever/you/installed/mxsimulator/
./mx --editor

When I put Ubuntu 11.1 on my laptop and then opened MXS I was able to just program the buttons with whatever program was already on there however I was not able to use the left and right trigger. Can you atleast do that?
