Was racing in stock tracks server now. And i asked how to get my game to stop lagging. then some guy said the lower the ping the better, and mentioned he had a 1GB connection. WTF???

My connection is 384 kbps, thus i have a ping count of about 400... not good. What can i do to make it lag less?

And what is your connection speed, the best it get here in my part of South Africa is 4MB/s. For that it costs ZAR900pm or ($ 110.00), how does this compare to the rest of the world in price and speed?

Uplaod and Download speed do play their part in multiplayer performance, but what is hurting you the most is your physical distance from the server. Not much you can really do about that besides move closer to it.

Here, where the fiber ends at the edge of our neighborhood (why do they stop there...) we get 2.83 Mb/s download speed and 0.73 Mb/s upload. (Which is way lees than the average) But in MXS, I get 75 Ping almost all the time. The only reason this is though, is because I'm not too far from the server. So, like Shack said that's the main part.

from what i know North America is way behind other countries in terms of high speed mainly due to $$$ and businesses milking their contracts . id say a average speed is 1mb-30 mb download depending on dsl to cable/fiber optics. But over in euro they have 50+ mbs as you see for the same price
