Why?? Pretty simple, I've ridden enduro and I raced regionally for almost 3 years. I've ridden gravel, clay, sand, grass, mud, sludge, mire, icy gravel, snowy gravel and many more terrains that don't really have name like the kind of dirt you can find near the place I used to spend my holidays (Playa d'Aro, coastal town, 85km north of Barcelona) which is essentially damn slick gravel covered by 2-3 inches of much softer, almost sandy, gravel
Seriously, you think you know about terrains when you only go around and around and around and around racetracks. If you want to experiment terrains get a headlight, a license plate and ride OFFROAD... or be 7-12 and ride next to an adult like I used to
Most of you have never ridden on a trail full of leafs or a gravel road absolutely destroyed by torrential rain and people enjoying mudding or just a fucking almost frozen 4ft-wide mud trail
Have you ever gone down a ski slope on a enduro bike?? Have you ever ridden 4000ft high and with temperatures around 20ºF (-7ºC)?? Have you ever been to 3 different countries on a single day riding 90% offroad and covering over 350 miles on a damn 80cc bike??
I'm seriously tired of you guys talking like you know all when you don't know a damn fucking thing about riding. Anybody can go to a track and be fast, it only takes time, not much fear and a decent physical condition. That's why there's lots of goons in most racetracks. Try to find a noob in a decent offroad trip, you won't find it
Let's take it to the extreme. You all know Travis Pastrana (3-times "lites" AMA champion), Jeremy McGrath (7-times SX AMA champion) or even Joel Smets (like 4-5 World MX titles), right?? They've all tried enduro
Pastrana and McGrath went to the extreme and headed to Austria a few times to try to master the Red bull Hare scramble Erzberg rodeo. Even though they prepared it like Hell some times they were failing to finish and none of them ever got a top 10 finish
Smets tried an easier way. He started with some national events and then the International 6 days of enduro. He finished in a decent place... but that's only because the ISDE is an open event. Amateurs, women and PROs compete in the same course and it's quite easy. Then he went to the World enduro championship... he never got a top 5 finish in 2 seasons
So, if you know you can ride, go to a fucking enduro race. I said ENDURO, not a damn cross-country race. After you get a decent result on an amateur class or on a smaller-size class you come here and say me you're better than me
If not...
SHUT THE FUCK UP and STOP BASHING ME
Got it??
