2013 SX track scale 1:1

Post by Nikhil »

JLV, I brought this up last year, but at that point it was too late to do anything about it since the tracks had already been made. DJ99 downscaled a few tracks, and a lot of people liked the results. Think we could revisit the decision for 2013?

Here's the old thread:

Nah I want it 1:1 this year.
I had a Jam on the test tracks and I think itd make for better racing on
a 1:1 scake.
With that said Jlv should make it so you can bang bars properly.
Its way to easy to nudge some one and send them over the burm.

I think the tracks should be more realistic, The whoops should be HUGE and the doubles should be peaky!

Funny how the people who don't race want the 1:1 tracks...

Hows this for an idea? Re-scale JLV's tracks for personal use and leave the people who race them have race-able tracks. 8)

1:1 would be tight with the same width of 1:1.25

No it wouldn't if you downscale one direction the other has to be scaled down aswell. That's how that works. After hearing Dungey not shifting out of first on a 450 the whole race I do think that 1.25 is about right. I can do a whole lap in first with minimum shifts to second. I dont think length should be changed but I would like peaks to be changed up alittle but with a larger scale its hard to change the peak without completely throwing everything.

There's enough carnage in the whoops with the size they are. I like the size they are for this game, you can still make up time but they aren't too sketchy. This game is just way to easy to get out of shape and crash.

True, But it would be cool if the rhythms and doubles/triples were peaky because I snuck on the Milestone SX and the triples and doubles were peaked! Long story short I was messing around throwing my 14 year old small kid on a 125 whips and i got kicked off.

If you make the rhythm sections peakier then it makes it easier to do quads through all the sections which isnt realistic. The traction would need to be seriosly slowed down if you wanted peakier rhythms.

JLV supercross tracks are good right now! As it has been said, with a 1:1 scale, with a 450 you could almost pass a rythm section with only one jump... Not like this IRL, hu?

Current scale is adapted to the ingame bikes, and it´s ok like this!

I don't race because I want 1:1 tracks.

JLV tweaks the jumps to make them "good" at 1:1.25 scale. They're not good at 1:1.
Pumaxcs wrote:No it wouldn't if you downscale one direction the other has to be scaled down aswell.
You can move the tuff blocks closer between the lanes to gain a little more room.
Ddavis wrote:There's enough carnage in the whoops with the size they are.
People don't know how to go through the whoops. They just pin it through JLV's whoops because they're rounded.

That's not true. With a 1:1 scale you have less room before and between the jumps which means less speed and not bigger jumps.

I've been toying with a close to 1:1 scale 2-stroke era style sx track recently and while quading a rhythm is possible, it's a high risk-high reward move which will result in a crash for all except the more better riders. Also with 1:1 scale and a more square edged whoops, jumping through them actually becomes a viable option since blitzing them will require much more skill than the current whoops in jlv's sx tracks, and again it's only the better riders who'll go blitz through them without a crash.

There's the plus side too that while the rhythms require much more precision, casing something is more forgiving as you won't necessarily crash and burn unless messing up a triple or quad attempt.
