2013-08-15 snapshot

Changes:
  • Scrambled files.
  • Gearing adjustments are now forced to integers.
  • Auto align after a fall can now be independently disabled.
  • Sound is now muted on ghosted bikes.
  • Warmup bike is now ghosted when you aren't following it.
The game will automatically unscramble files ending in .scram. To scramble a file, use mxscram.exe (Windows) or mxscram (Linux).

Invoke it like this: mxscram mykindofprotectedskin.png -o mykindofprotectedskin.png.scram

Windows users: http://mxsimulator.com/snapshots/mx-2013-08-15-1195.exe
Linux users: http://mxsimulator.com/snapshots/mxbin-2013-08-15-1195

Replace mx.exe or mxbin with one of the above files. The default location for mx.exe should be "C:\Program Files\MX Simulator". I'd keep a backup of the originals since these aren't well tested.

Finally! Thank you so much. Now the scrambled files will keep people quiet.

Auto align is a definite plus.
Warmup bike is now ghosted when you aren't following it.
as in you cant see your rider on the gate in warmup unless youre following?

Hoping to see more often snapshots, and maybe some title updates soon. :D

I had no idea you could use non-integer gearing before :shock:.

How exactly does mxscram.exe work? Do you drag your png image into the .exe? I tried that and it made a bunch of beeping sounds at me.

Can someone explain to me in more detail how this scramble thing works? Is the actual PNG itself called "mxscram mykindofprotectedskin.png -o mykindofprotectedskin.png.scram" or what?

Before you were able to edit your gearing and make your countershaft sprocket 1.5 or something of the like. You can't anymore.

1. Put mxscram.exe in a folder
2. Put your PNG in that same folder
3. Go to start -> Search 'cmd' then hit enter
4. In the command prompt: type 'cd /path/to/the/folder/referenced/above/' and hit enter
5. type './mxscram.exe mypngfile.png -o mypngfile.png.scram' and hit enter

Alright, did that. Should the .scram file be replacing anything? The way I have it the png is still in working order and when I put the .scram file by itself it doesn't show up in the bike menu ingame.

Remove the PNG from your personal folder, leave the .scram in there. It should work just like a normal skin.
