Always leaning foward in jumps
Just bought the game today. Been searching the forums without luck. Arcade physics off.. Every time I hit a jump and fly through the air, my nose goes down. It's like I'm constantly leaning foward and I flip over the front end.
Tried leaning back into and during jump.
Tried letting off gas going up the jump.
Tried nailing the gas in air.
Even set the buttons for leaning foward and back off to make sure it wasn't causing something funny to happen.
Very frustrated. Any advice? TIA.
Jeff

try leaning forward on take off then going neutral in air or pin it on the face of the jump. Im sure other people can give you better advice though.

Tried it. Same thing. I know it's me cuz I installed it on both my OS (win7,vista) and it does it on both.
Ty though.

1: Practice
2: If you're trying to ride sx, hold off for a while and ride on jlv's stock tracks (red bud, locust, budds creek, glenside, etc). most of the sx jumps will do that to a lot of people and they are generally just harder to figure out.
3: the rowing motion helps. let off the gas as you hit the face and lean forward, then pin it and lean back. the rowing of your body, with the suspension jerking back should keep the front end up (hope that makes sense)
4: PRACTICE
*almost forgot*
the rebound is labled kind of backwards. Make sure both your fork and shock rebound are at least 70, I run mine in the 80's, it will keep the susp from kicking you too bad.
You have a lot of control over how the bike comes off the lips with the rebound settings, and higher settings seem to help on a lot of tracks.

Re: Always leaning foward in jumps
Put the rider mass distribution to .5, that might help some too.

well no shit sherlock, its a simulation. In real life if you do any of those things you just mentioned your in for a nasty nose dive. You have to keep gas even and lean forward or give gas at very end and lean back (seat bounce). letting the gas off on the face results in a nose dive, same for leaning back unless you are seat bouncing.Layden wrote:Just bought the game today. Re: Always leaning foward in jumps
just keep the throttle steady going up the upramp, and lean back just as youre going off the lip if its a real short or kicky jump
a common mistake people make is to lean back going all the way up a jump, this causes the rear to pack up, and you will get bucked forward when the suspension unloads

Re: Always leaning foward in jumps
Well.. I got it a few times. Feels like I'm learning to ride again. This is gonna take lots of practice. I'm diggin it.
Every time I got it to jump right, I was leaning forward till the last second then slapping the stick all the way back. Weird thing is is that it seems random when it works and when it doesn't. Also seems like if I go at the jump leaning a little to the right or left it's easier to get.
Thanks for the tips.

Re: Always leaning foward in jumps
Take it easy, killer. Besides you being grumpy, you're wrong. Leaning back will not cause you to nose dive under ANY situation unless you're decreasing throttle. Nailing the gas in the air will definitely not cause you to nose dive.BMseX wrote:well no (organic matter) sherlock, its a simulation. Back on topic though - you really just have to get used to the rowing motion he was talking about. Lean forward up the lip, and back to level or even back while you're coming off the lip.
There's definitely an issue with the physics here though. It's pretty unrealistic that neutral stance and even throttle always gets you bucked.
