Hi,
I'm wanting to get 30 FPS after my laptop, quite literally melted. Now I'm stuck with this piece of rubbish desktop, however I want to upgrade it. I've only got a bit of cash spare at the moment so I was wondering if this graphics card http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-11202- ... s=amd+7750 will run 30 FPS on a 40 man gate on most tracks with a Intel Pentium G620.
Please post answers, sick of using this piece of crap!
This would probably barely run a 40 man gate. At low graphics at that. You may want to consider spending about $200 (or £ or whatever you use) instead.
Your cpu is the issue.. no graphics card upgrade will help you. Your cpu is bottlenecking the game... it wouldn't matter if you bought a GTX 780 you would still get shitty frames due to the game engine running solely on the cpu.
I know a lot of people will call bullshit but I have seen my own gpu stay at 25c with its core at 365mhz for an entire 5laps in sim. Upgrade your core system first.... cpu, motherboard and ram then worry about a gpu upgrade.
Yeah, a few people have told me about bottle necking. But why would I need a new motherboard? Aren't they hard to fit? Because I will have to re attach everything etc. Furthermore I believe my motherboard supports the LGA 1155 socket and can take Sandybridge and Ivybridge processors, so I don't know why I'd have to upgrade my motherboard. However, if I buy a new motherboard and CPU I would have to buy a new GPU also because the graphics in my system are integrated at the minute, so if I bought a new motherboard and CPU I would no longer have a HDMI socket. Am I correct?
Pentium's are still made but are more associated with old PC's. What motherboard do you have because its possible you could just replace a CPU but unlikely. If you graphics are integrated then I have found your problem entirely. Integrated means nothing like a GPU, integrated means your CPU is doing all of the work and splitting itself to do both task required. The HDMI port would be based on if you kept your motherboard but I would suggesting running as far away as possible from integrated graphics as possible unless all you are doing is spreadsheets. Games without a doubt need some sort of card and all GPU's use PCI slots which almost all boards have.

Pumaxcs would know better than I do.
Hey Puma, I have the H61MXL-K motherboard, which can be found here: http://www.foxconnchannel.com/ProductDe ... -us0000554
As you can see it says it supports Sandybridge and Ivybridge processors and has a PCI Express x16 slot. So my situation is currently I can't afford an i5 CPU and a GPU, however I can afford the GTX 750Ti, do you believe concentrating on upgrading the GPU will give me a lot more FPS as now the work is split between both the crappy Pentium and the GTX 750Ti?
You can upgrade to a PCI-e graphics card but like I said previously your CPU will still hinder your systems performance in MxSim. Since your board supports Sandy and Ivy I would consider CPU and GPU upgrade and be done with it. After you stated the CPU model I was under the impression you had a very old system or one that wasn't made for gaming i.e. office work ect.
I would suggest the 750Ti if your under a strict budget... the power requirements would be minimal and a power supply upgrade wouldn't be needed.
Your board looks like a Mini ATX so I am going to assume your case is very small and possibly a pre-built system from HP,DELL or some other brand. This being the case you will want to go with the GTX 750Ti for sure since its has a very small PCB format. You also have the option of the MSI Mini GTX760 that I linked someone else in another thread but that MIGHT require more power... depends on what you want to spend.
Switching out your current hardware for these two parts would increase you gaming experience in not only MxSimulator but also other games should you chose to play any.
Compared to some people in this forum I've given advice to your getting out pretty cheap. Should run you around $350.00 USD
A Sandy Bridge Pentium isn't *that* bad. The integrated graphics is the slowest thing on his system. I'd get a graphics card first. Either way he's going to need it. If it doesn't get him up to a good enough framerate then he should look into a new CPU.

Thats what I was trying to get at, using integrated is not the Pentiums strong suit and getting a GPU first would give you a gauge of what, if any, CPU you needed next. The 750Ti is a new card so I doubt anyone will have a direct response as to how it will run but I'd assume similar to what a 660 can. The card should be capable of getting the performance it will just depend if the Pent can keep up with the pace is my guess.
