Looking for a good computer to play with
I've been using crossover on mac to play mx sim but all of a sudden, it stopped working about 3 months ago. I managed to save some extra cash to get a new computer/laptop. I don't want anything to expensive but I want something that I will be able to play with no lag when I race. Any suggestions out there? I don't know much about PC because I mostly use macs.

This will suit you just fine.
But if that doesn't suit your requirements this is a good option.

All jokes aside the XDNA PC looks amazing. I didn't read into the spec's but visually that looks super clean.
I'm still very interested as to how a APU setup will work with MXS because its a fantastic price/performance if you do it right but I'm still to unsure of it to recommend. Though if the new ones can run BF4 I would have to assume they could run this game. Since you are coming from a Mac you would need OS/keyboard/mouse/monitor along with the PC correct?

I would buy Sager NP8258 for $1,999 It has the fastest graphics card you can get for a laptop as of right now all in a 15" laptop.
You can play anything in MXS on full settings with this. Why spend $800 on a junk laptop when you can spend $2000 and have the best of everything.
Specs------------------------------------------------------------------------------
15.6" Full HD (1920 x 1080) Display featuring 95% NTSC Color Gamut
4th Generation Intel Core i7-4810MQ Processor
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 880M GPU with 8GB GDDR5 Memory
16GB Dual Channel DDR3 Memory at 1600MHz (2 x 8GB)
120GB Crucial M5 mSATA SSD + 1TB (7200rpm) HDD
6X Blu-ray Reader

Re: Looking for a good computer to play with
Do you have any idea how much of a BEAST Desktop machine you can build with $2000??? That laptop wouldn't even be able to compare to the caliber of desktop performance for that same price point. And remember the "M" class GPU's are not in the same level as the desktop versions and cost almost twice as much. So basicly a GTX880M is an overpriced GTX 770 desktop card. My son has an Alienware X17 with a GTX765m and it still falls almost 1000 points short of a desktop machine using a GTX 760 in 3D Mark 2011. I would stay clear of Laptops for any kind of gaming unless you have no other option or the laptop mobility is more appealing to you. In our case we wanted our boy to have something he could take with him on trips ect.. so it was a viable option.MotoRockstar777 wrote:I would buy Sager NP8258 for $1,999 It has the fastest graphics card you can get for a laptop as of right now all in a 15" laptop.

Yes your right you could build a badass desktop but i personally don't like sitting at a computer desk everytime to use it. I like to be able to just sit on the couch, watch tv at the same time.
Also here is benchmarks for the 780m which is last years card and it will play basically every single game at the highest settings possible including battlefield 4 and that is last years card. The 880m is faster and it has 8gb of video memory.

Of course desktops are faster but laptops are getting to be plenty fast for what you need. I have the same laptop except 2 years older with the 680m and it will still play almost every game maxed out.

Build your own and get the best parts for your budget. That would be the best price/performance thing to do. If not, look on Amazon, plenty of great deals on there. Also, make sure to triple check the graphics aren't integrated on any system.
