No not really, it will be better than nothing but isnt a great card. What is your current setup and what is your budget for a graphics card?

This is so far from the truth....

The 8800 series cards were in fact the top card when MX Simulator was first started. It should run this game just fine with no problems. Will you be able to run maxed settings like 1024 tiles? no.... but 256 res tiles will look fine and the game will be smooth. The 8800 series GPU was a breakthrough technology that was way ahead of its time. You can still play NEW games with an 8800 GPU.... but only in DX10 mode as that's all the card supports.

I have an 8800GTS 640Mb card sitting in my garage and I can still play anything off the shelf with it.... please get your facts straight if your going to give people tech advise.

Texture memory is very limiting at only 512mb vs most newer generation cards with 2gb. I think there is probably a better option for sim depending on his budget and current specs and what the deal was with the 8800gt. Like I said, better than nothing not great.

Always assume the person your helping is a kid with no money and no job... who cant afford a new card. Yes in this case the 8800GT is a great card.

If your budget is $0 then the card is fabulous. What is the alternative? Get mad at the guy who is giving you a free video card?

Side note, we should have a adults only section on here. I cant take any more of this nonsense. Imagine how it would be if all 12 of us could gather somewhere without this mindless banter haha.

We understand, get the card. Worst case scenario is the free card isn't what you expected and you can buy a different one. That card will perform, I had the same card when I first started playing so it will work, but I have no clue how well with todays tracks and models.

that card is 7 years old now. that's very old in computer years. but saying that, it will play mxs in normal graphics settings on the sx maps just fine. you will have to turn the graphics settings right down for national tracks. but it will work!
its actually probably on about par with a ps3 for performance!

The Quadro 2000 is a workstation card. You're probably better off with a gaming GPU.
