So I got the idea to make a 3D motocross game for mobile one day, then decided to browse the forums and I saw Paulo's "XXX for Riders..." post (Looks sick by the way viewtopic.php?f=1&t=32447 ). I figure I shouldnt do the same thing as him so I decided to go the 2D route, hence the two x's in the title. I had already been messing with a 2D moto game but had no intentions on taking it anywhere. I got more into it and decided on actually releasing it someday. Today I released the Alpha/beta whatever you want to call it. The game is called Braap2D. Im not going to lie, right now it looks awful and if I was a consumer I wouldnt want to download it. It is very early in development though and will be appealing to the eye once the physics are fine tuned. This , though , is what separates it from other games; bike settings. I kind of wanted to add some settings like we have in sim. Here are some that ship with the alpha/beta.
Features:
-Control Sensitivity
-Suspension
-Gearing
-Rider Mass (comes next beta(0.02))
Id also like to mention that you will be able to unlock gear sets, helmets, and other bikes. The previous mentioned items will also be available for micro-transaction(in-app purchase) if you do not wish to take the time to unlock them manually.
The complete game with ship out with a career starting out on 50's, working your way to loretta's and eventually making it to the pro's. All local and regional tracks will be unlocked when you open the app for the first time and loretta's and pro tracks will have to be unlocked or bought.
If you would like to partake in the alpha/beta you can go to my website, http://braap2d.ddns.net . I have put alot of time into the site as well so check it all out
Braap2D will be free on:
-PC
-Mac
-Linux
-IOS
-Android
The game will have ads on the mobile version but will be able to be ad free with a 0.99 cent fee. On the computer it might have a 0.99 cent charge but will have more content for you to enjoy.
I hope you enjoy the game and if not please e-mail me and tell me why. braap2dhelp@gmail.com
Happy braaping!
*side note* If you would like to be part of the design ex. tracks, bikes, gear, environment then please e-mail me at the handle provided above or contact me on twitter @michaelhodge47. You must have photoshop!
